Servants owe their Commander complete submission. This is what happened to Abraham: when called, by faith he went to where the Lord guided him. Many declare to be servants of the Most High, but give up when they receive a mission to go somewhere they don’t want, neglecting the Lord’s orders. What will happen to these people on Judgement Day, when they are before the King of kings?
There’s a story about a Japanese soldier who lived in a jungle in the Philippines for almost 30 years – he had received an order to never surrender as Japan fought in World War II. Even though this man wasn’t in contact with his commander and lived in precarious conditions, he fought along with his war partners without giving up. In 1975, a Japanese student found him in the jungle and took him to his commander so he would be discharged from his duty.
Abraham obeyed! That’s what’s expected from true servants of the Lord; otherwise, they will be disqualified from walking beside the One who is faithful. Many people must rethink their past attitudes: the fact that they left the work of God to take care of personal interests disqualifies them for salvation. Wasn’t it the lack of faith of the boy with a mute spirit’s father, in Mark 9:14-27, which allowed the devil to enter him?
Our children are blessed under our protection, just as the people of God were safe in Jerusalem under the Lord’s watch: For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you (Psalm 147:13). A single mistake from one of the parents allows demons to enter the house; in the same way as an attitude of faith leads the power of God to bless a family. Door locks will never be opened by the power of the evil one, but rather, by our lack of faith and obedience to God’s orders!
God told Abraham to leave his father’s house and his land, to go to a land He would show. Abraham understood that servants must obey their master without questioning, so he started walking in the direction God guided him without knowing where he was going, for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10); but he never found it because it is in heaven!
Moses knew well how perverse Pharaoh was; after all, he was raised among Egyptians. The order he received to go back to that country and tell the king to set the people of God free was well accomplished. Even though he knew how the monarch would react, Moses told him everything the Most High had said. The “no’s” he received from the king didn’t matter; what mattered was the Most High’s approval. The Hebrew people was set free!
If he hadn’t accepted the Lord’s commandment, Moses wouldn’t have showed faith in the power of God and wouldn’t be saved. Seek to find if the heavenly Father is truly calling you to do His will. Then, start working: march on to accomplish the work. God will use you according to His will. He is faithful!
In Christ, with love,

Lord whom we obey! We can’t play around with Your calling, because it is the most important thing in our lives after salvation. Your plan is the best thing that could have happened to us. Help us, beloved Father!
We long to always give You the best place in our heart. When You called us, You planned what was best for us. When You sent us, You showed how much You love us. The truth is that before we were formed, You already knew us.
Our response to You is yes, because what really matters is to work for You and lead people to Your Gospel. That way, they will come to know You, love You and live victoriously in Christ. Thank You for loving us with such real and pure love!
