My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 

Psalm 73:26

When the body and the spirit can´t take it anymore, it´s time to seek the Lord with all your strength, for destruction might be closer than you think. Respect for the words that God speaks enables us to say the prayer of faith. Jesus didn´t just promise that the people who were about to die would live, but He also said that those who believed in Him, even if they were already dead, would live again. (John 11:25)

Our physical strength is a response to the way we feed ourselves and to our time of rest; however, many aspects can prevent us from eating and resting. That’s why we get sick and suffer other problems. For the Lord to heal, it doesn´t matter the cause, but if the person uses the faith that was given to him or to her by listening to the Word of God. However, there´s also the natural cure, which is obtained through our body´s capacity of healing itself, which is something our Creator planned for us.

If the natural healing doesn´t happen, or if some kind of sickness afflicts us and we can´t find healing ourselves, we can take hold of the declaration that says that Jesus has already taken our infirmities and sorrows, and we know that, by His wounds we are healed. Christ Himself promised that whatever we ask for – and determine – in His name, He will do it. When there isn´t the option of a natural cure, and when Medicine can´t help, we can call out to Him who promised to hear our cry.

There is nothing impossible to those who are in communion with the Lord. However, the enemy can fool some people around, and because they don´t know the Word, they walk away from God. These people might even pray, go to church and fulfill their duties with the kingdom, but they can´t react in a positive way to the attacks from the evil one. The truth is that they must open their hearts and turn to the Lord.

The moment they feel the presence of the Father, they will see that their power is back, and that their heart has been strengthened. Then, they can fight evil with courage they have never experienced before. They must confess that the Most High is their heart´s strength, and even if they don´t see a way out, they can still fight with the Lord on their side, for He is their strength.

If you feel defeated, or if depression has caught you in such a way that you don´t feel like praying or resisting the enemy anymore, it is time to rise up, to be baptized with the divine presence and to wash your clothes. If God is the strength of your life, who shall you fear? If you take a step of faith, the power of the Most High will operate on your behalf.

The Lord is your portion forever. There has never been and there never will be a single battle that He isn´t victorious. When He´s on your side, you will never be defeated; however, it is necessary to act, to be strong and to resist the lies of the devil. You can count on God now and forever. So what are you waiting for to act in his name?
