13/11/2010 - THE THOUGHTS OF THE WICKED ABOUT US

The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. (Psalm 37:12)

The opinion of the wicked about the children of God is the worst possible; after all, the same demon that makes them despise the Most High also leads them to hate us. It is even possible that they claim to be Christians, but have no respect for the Holy Word. You’d better take this warning into account because He knows and sees everything. His advice is that we are harmless as doves, but wise as serpents (Matthew 10:16).

When an individual converts he starts to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Galatians 3:11). However, if he loses it he becomes worse than the wicked. Many do not abandon the church, but the Lord. They think that because they are in the Father\’s house they will be saved in the last day, so they keep on doing everything wrong. The biblical warnings mean nothing to them and they even get to the point of mocking both the divine commandments and those who fear them.

We should not be friends with those who act this way. When we are in contact with them, we must beware and not miss the opportunity to alert them of danger. Furthermore, we must be strong and not give in to their threats because in doing so some of them can be taken out of the eternal fire towards which they are striding.

There have always been wicked people in the Lord\’s work, and unfortunately their bad testimony leads many people to perdition. However, because we know who sowed the tares and also that we should not pull them for fear of a major loss, we have to tolerate them so that others will not be lost as well (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43).

The divine work is done with wisdom, after all hell is striving to get us out of God\’s hands and prevent us from being fruitful in our mission. However, the enemy will only succeed if we neglect the words of Jesus, who ensured that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of Christ (Matthew 16:18). Therefore, we can move forward boldly, knowing that victory is ours.

The Bible tells us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), so there\’s no need to panic. When you hear of traps being set up against your life, your family or your ministry, do not heed it because the Lord himself said that we will have struggles, but in His Name, we will be winners (John 16:33).

The Christian\’s victory was won with the blood of Jesus. Then my brethren, it’s not by using the wicked ones that Satan will defeat you. Be strong and march with your head held high to serve God in a way that is pleasing to Him. In doing so you will not be hurt!

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
