“You are my portion, O LORD; I have said that I would keep Your words.” (Psalm 119:57)

Greed has separated and devastated many families. When it comes to sharing an inheritance, what matters most is one’s own interest. There’s always someone wishing to keep the best land, the most valuable house and so lies are fabricated; experts bribed; and even witchcraft performed. It’s so sad to see people that don’t know the Lord being carried away by the evil one; yet, it’s even worse to see servants of God following suit.

The psalmist made his choice: The Lord is His inheritance. Those who do the same will realize they’ve taken the happiest and the most profitable step. Firstly, The Lord’s fighting in their favor, and though evil plans are being architected behind the curtains to harm them, they know true righteousness will be at work to benefit them (Psalm 37:32-33). Secondly, the reward comes from God for all those who leave behind anything for the love they feel for Him and for the Gospel. Everything must be delivered in prayer in the hands of The One who judges with justice and righteousness (Psalm 9:4).

Besides, you’ll receive the greatest inheritance of all if you elect the Lord as your Portion because He’s unlimited. The Most High will surely reward you even more abundantly than what you’d get from your stolen portion though your peers might’ve disappointed you. Having the Lord as our inheritance only brings us benefits, because the devil will never be able to take any part of it, no matter how small it might be. It’s good to ponder on that and elect our Father as your Portion.

I pity those who let themselves be carried away by the spirit of error to take something that doesn’t belong to them; they’ll always be in the hands of our enemy. The very thing someone gets from the devil – be it just a gift or with the help of his filthy hands – he ends up taking it back with high interest. You should never accept any favor from the enemy. It’s much better to live in a house full of holes in the roof than to have the spirit of prostitution sharing a mansion with you.

The Bible warns us that our struggle is against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12). We don’t need to turn to human Courts to retrieve something one of our dearest family members is taking from us. All we have to do is to present our plea at the Courts of God and condemn the true thieves who are using our family members to do us harm. When we occupy our rightful place, we’re empowered to get what belongs to us.

Don’t fail to keep the Word of God whatever the circumstances. If you prayed and felt peace inside, but what you are doing now is condemned by the Scriptures, then that peace is false. You must never accept anything condemned by the Bible. If it is not backed up by the Word of God, don’t do it! However upright it might seem to be. Only those who have the Lord with them can be victorious!

In Christ, with love,
