For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 6:14

It is difficult to enumerate the reasons why God gave us the Holy Scriptures, for there are many. But one thing is certain: What He had in mind was to help us know Him and ourselves, and tell us about our situation without Christ, as well as what we are and what we can be with Him. However, one of the greatest purposes of the Lord was to inform us that sin shall not have dominion over us. Since the space for this message is small, we will summarize those important pieces of information, and in the next messages we will cover each one of them separately. Follow me.

1. FREE FROM THE DOMINION OF SIN – “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  (Romans 6:11).  Those who want to do good and have a fresh new start in life will be successful from the moment they make the aforementioned statement. If sin has kept a hold on you, pray for God to forgive you for your ignorance and next declare yourself dead to all sorts of error. With this simple decision, you become free from that terrible dominion.

2. THE REIGN OF SIN IN YOUR BODY HAS ENDED – “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.” (Romans 6:12). Those who have yielded to sin can now take over their independence and stop bowing to the lusts of the flesh. In so doing, the action of Satan will no longer reign supreme over any area of your life because God has brought the knowledge of the truth to you.

3. MAKE THIS OFFER – “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” (Romans 6:13). Once sin gets hold of someone’s life, the devil will cause this individual to present his members for him to do whatever he wants. For those who are in the Gospel, this sad reality came to an end. The Lord provided us with double capacity: to present ourselves to Him as being alive in the midst of so many dead people – those who are far from God – and to present our members as instruments of righteousness.

4. CONSIDER YOURSELF DELIVERED – “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace” (Romans 6:14). The dominion of sin in our lives is over. Even the most devoted servants of God will be used by the enemy in his immoral works if they do not use these revelations contained in God\’s Word. It is due to one reason only that we are free from the yoke of bondage: we are under God\’s grace (Galatians 5:1-18). What will you do now? The decision is yours!

In Christ with love,
