“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Ephesians 4:1)
Do you remember how your life was when you were called? God didn’t look at your flaws, but He showed you what He wished you do and the kind of person He expected you to be. The Lord didn’t change His plans, so get your hands again on the task you were assigned by Him. That’s the worthy manner to fulfil the will of our Father.
Undoubtedly, we were worthless when the Lord called us. Yet, the love of God took us to Jesus. He chose us, washed over all our sins and thoroughly cleansed us from all spiritual contamination. He also covered us with dignity, so new dreams became part of our lives. The first days of our walk with our Father were wonderful because we had never felt we could be loved and blessed that way.
We weren’t chosen by the Lord because of any of our virtues, but because of His good heart which led Him to love us so much and to be that merciful to us.
He didn’t even pay notice to our flaws; yet, He forgave us completely and covered us up with His Holy Spirit. So, we began having communion with Him and having authority over all the kingdom of our enemy.
You felt that the Most High had an amazing plan for you to fulfil on those days, didn’t you? He also showed to you the kind of person He wished you to be. Yet, as it happens to many brothers, you didn’t watch out. So, the devil came about and he subtly took you away from the divine presence. Today you’re sinking in sin and the worst thing is that you believe the Almighty God doesn’t mind your committing that error.
Well, our God never changes (James 1:17). So what’s the point of allowing the devil to fool you? You won’t be excused at the Judgment if you keep on behaving that way. Will all the effort the Lord made to open up your eyes and turn you into a decent person be in vain? Didn’t He know what He was doing when He addressed you through praises, messages, witnesses and so many other means?
Stop listening to the devil and go back to God to fulfil His divine plan. It isn’t worth taking the risk to get lost for all eternity. An affair, hoaxing, wrongdoings and everything the enemy shows you will only drive you away from the marvellous purpose of our Father. So, make the best decision: ask the Lord to be forgiven and do be again that true servant of God you were before; a servant of God in this filthy and lost world.
That’s the way He wants to see you. Don’t remain fallen; get rid of the devil’s “claws” which are hanging on your back to bend you down over and over each day. Those who don’t live a dignified life – that’s the way you were called up to live – will get lost forever; yet, those who do the will of God will surely be with Jesus for centuries. In His endless wisdom, He’s got in store so many good things for you to enjoy forever.
