And moreover, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he pondered and sought out and set in order many proverbs.   Ecclesiastes 12:9

Human beings are greedy even about what God freely gives them. Because of the law of copyright, for example, he wants to receive the rights even to songs that praise the Lord, which were given to him by Him. Those who think this way need to meditate on the following teaching: Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6.38).

The Lord gives wisdom to those who ask Him: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1.5). When you pray for something, remember that Jesus spoke: For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened (Lucas 11.10). Your petitions will be granted, if you make them with faith on the revelation of the Almighty!

The preacher can have a normal or high level of wisdom. This is what King Solomon meant when he wrote the key verse under study:  because the Preacher was wise[...]. God grants what we ask for in faith, but some do it without the interest of receiving and don’t even seek to know if the Father will answer them. Nobody should play with the Lord. So, before you ask for something, think about whether you have faith to receive it (Mark 11.24; James 1.5-8).

Every minister of the Gospel must be faithful to the One who appointed him as such, for to him will be revealed all that God wants the people to know. He is like a steward of the Lord’s house, who is concerned about what and how much the household will eat or need (1 Corinthians 4.1; 1 Peter 4.10,11). If you need wisdom to teach them, just ask the eternal Father. He knows that His children need it, thus, they will live well and do His will. Cry out in faith to receive!

When we pay attention to the Word, we attest that we are responsible pastors for the care of God’s people. However, if we ignore the Scriptures, failing to seek the right word for the congregation, we lose our judgment. Now, we have to help everyone to do good and not evil. One day we will give an account of what we have done to improve the lives of the Most High’s servants (Hebrews 13.17).

Preachers need to examine the Bible until they find the Lord’s message for the people. Being at a loss as to how to proceed is detrimental to the flock of God. The members of the Body of Christ have to overcome crises. Those who understand the divine will know how to discern the offers that come to them, and will not fall into the hands of the enemy. Without revelation, the Christian becomes easy prey for the devil (Proverbs 29:18).

In each revelation it’s possible to compose proverbs that will greatly help those in need of the Truth. Once we come to know it, we will be able to give the best to our congregation. Only this way will the sheep of the good Shepherd, who is Jesus, be fed and protected from spiritual predators.

In Christ, with love,

God of abundant life! There are no limits to Your pastors becoming wiser. The more they are, the better Your people will live. We don't need to go from one place to another in order to find the sheep to be cared for!

You will lead those that need Your understanding, and they will form a good flock. The faith that can make us more than conquerors will come with the wisdom of the preacher, who opens the Word as Jesus did. Is there a better way to help the sheep?

Teach us to give credit to the Scriptures and to examine them. We will always turn to You. Without Jesus, we can do nothing. We must know the Truth in order to compose the proverbs that will make Your servants happy. Help us, Lord!
