Then they came to Jesus, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid.
Mark 5:15
One man, in the country of the Gadarenes, posed a danger to the entire region. People avoided going through the neighborhood because of that man who, besides walking around naked, was extremely violent. All the attempts proved powerless to make him come to reason; binding him with chains was not possible because he would pull them apart due to his extraordinary strength. He was a hopeless case, at least in the opinion of those who did not have God’s anointing.
However, Jesus delivered that man (Mark 5:6-14). The news spread immediately; then the people, who could hardly believe what they heard, came to Jesus and, much to their amazement, they saw that that man was not only freed from the demons that were tormenting him but he was also sitting, clothed and in his right mind. This is the transformation that society needs to see today. There is healing for the insane, the violent and all those who suffer.
The message Jesus commands us to convey is this: to preach the Good News concerning what He has done for all those who suffer (Mark 16:15-18). However, unfortunately, the personal or political desires and fascination for culture, wealth and other things have caused God’s work to be transformed into just another religion. But all religions have never done anything for man because they do not have God’s power. People need to see the true Gospel in action.
If the divine power does not envelop people’s hearts twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, people become corrupt. The result is religious, moral, financial and sexual prostitution. We have to do what the Master commanded and strive to fulfill His orders. It is not worth trying other means to do the Lord’s work. If there were such other means, He would have told us.
Today, in many so-called Christian circles, instead of the enemy being expelled, he has been invited to be present through wrongful practices and the result is shameful. The church, which should be an example, becomes a laughing stock. Its members get involved in many wrong situations and the lost ones mock the Christian faith. In the days of Jesus, when people saw the demon-possessed being completely delivered they feared. Those were good times!
Do not wait for anyone: you can be the beginning of a change yourself. Start living the Word, fleeing all that is wrong. At every step you take towards the Lord, He draws near your life in the same manner. The Most High shall use all those who dare to believe in His Word, provided they do so without any personal interest.
