The foolish decision of the Israelites did not come by chance, but rather due to the accumulation of temptations which they could not resist and allowed to nestle in their hearts. You have to alert so that the devil doesn’t draw you away from the Lord. Rebuke the enemy every time evil thoughts envelop your mind. If there is one person responsible for any lost battle in your life, it is you. God’s servants must never let their guard down, but continually be alert. Do that!
The Israelites had the Lord as their God, but often abandoned Him. The adversary took advantage of this to oppress them. Those who are negligent with what they have been given and blame others for their failures need to read more of the Bible to see that their attitude leads them away from the Father. Then, taking advantage of the gap, the devil causes them all sorts of evil. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall (1 Corinthians 10.12).
The same thing can happen to us if we give way to temptations. When we find ourselves unprotected by God – without listening to His voice or praying to Him – we are oppressed by the kingdom of darkness and make no effort not to fall. Now, to credit our sufferings to the Most High is the height of wickedness: He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4.8). Get to know Jesus!
The kingdom of darkness only comes into contact with us in order to harm us, as Jesus explained when He drew the parallel between Himself and the devil: The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10.10). All the harm we suffer, the pain we feel, and the evil that visits us comes from the devil. Rebuke him and be free!
For not having watched, as the Lord instructed us: Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mark 14.38). The Israelites took the worst attitude anyone could take. When they asked for a man over them, leaving the perfect Lord out, they did not calculate the damage they would have. Never do anything similar, lest you be disappointed. Live in the light (1 John 1:7).
They cried out in fear and coveted the enemy peoples around them, but the one who fears should pray to be free from this spirit that was not given to the servant of the only God, and not to ask for something extra (2 Timothy 1.7). The person who prays out of envy does what is unhealthy, in the spiritual realm, because they do what the devil wants. Pray the prayer of faith to get rid of temptations, and not ask for what you already know is not God’s will!
The Israelites showed that they were tired because God did not answer them, but the reason had already been revealed by the Lord: Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish. (Deuteronomy 8.19). When we stop seeking God, the devil is at work!

God, our King! Suddenly, we stopped going to You and placing ourselves on Your altar, to seek the commandments to fulfill what You show us. Thus, the enemy comes and battles against our life!
Who was this king of the children of Ammon, if the greatest rulers had come against them, and You helped Your people to settle the issue, defeating them? We have forgotten You, and the evil one causes the worst problems. Help us, Father!
When the Israelites made the decision to forbid You to reign over them, they were wrong. Who were they without Your power guarding them every moment? Forgive us whenever we offend and hurt You. Deliver us from evil!
