20/11/2016 - THEY LET TEMPTATION COME

Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Exodus 17.1

Never be annoyed or complain against God’s acts. Even if He may drive you towards the desert, that will be good for you. He is the Master, and we are the disciples. There is always a purpose in all that He does. In the desert, there is no water, but there is the Most High’s operation, which is infinitely better than any other circumstance that we may consider good and appropriate. The Lord is our Refuge, Fortress, and Rescue in times of tribulation.

The Israelites should not have complained, for when they did so, they saddened God’s heart. As a Father, when He sees that something bad will happen to us, He guides us into other ways, so that we may learn our lesson. Then, when the bad thing happens, He leads us to victory. Always practice the Word, and do not give space to the devil to operate in your life.

The children of Israel had already seen the Most High operating wonderfully in their favor, when He used Moses to send the ten plagues over the most powerful kingdom of the world in those times. When the tenth plague came, killing the firstborn, including Pharaoh’s oldest son and all the sons of the commanders of Egypt, God was showing that He is Sovereign and does according to His will.

However, the Israelites, instead of meditating on what the Lord had done for them, they became desperate in Rephidim since there was no water there (Nm 33.15), and they offended the Lord. Never rebel against the divine plans, for undoubtedly, in whatever situation that He will place you, there is a wonderful plan to lead you to full deliverance. If by any chance you do not understand the divine will, ask Him to explain it to you.

Remember that we are not talking about someone like us, but about the supreme, most powerful, and unfailing Being. God would never do something if it was not the best thing for us. If the Lord leads you to a dangerous place, do not fear, because that place will be the most safe for you to live. Certainly, He will care for you so that you may enjoy that place.

Was the Almighty not aware that there was no water there? Now, He knows everything about you; not only what is visible, but also what is invisible to human eyes. Therefore, if you believe in Him, trust in Him. Whoever gives in to the enemy notices that it is the worst decision. The devil is a liar, he is evil, harmful, and noxious. Therefore, never give him credit. Only the Lord is good, pure, holy, and He will do harm to no one.

If the Israelites had prayed, God would make crystal water flow right in front of their tents. However, since they complained and tempted Him, they were thirsty, even though that was something He always took care of (Is 3.1).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Lord, our Captain! It is good to trust in what You say and in how You guide us. If you lead us anywhere, we must believe it is the best for us. We do not want to lose Your good will. Help us!

You would never lead someone to a place if it were not to give them a great lesson. Therefore, the devil tempts us so that we may rise against You and complain against You.

We ask for You to be patient with us and with all those that give up walking with You and doing Your will. We must learn from He who is humble and meek of heart, so that we may find rest to our souls. Amen!
