06/08/2022 - THEY WORSHIPED BEFORE THE LORD

Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.  1 Samuel 1.19

The steps of Hannah and Elkanah were very important. When she revealed to him the events inside the Tabernacle of the Lord in Shiloh, they both rejoiced with the coming blessing. There must be agreement between the couple for the work to be done by them and in them. When there is deceit or mistrust, there is a devil at work; therefore, divine operation will not be at work. Get rid of the devil, or you will go with him to the lake of fire.

Before sunrise, Hannah and Elkanah got up and went to seek God. The Scriptures say: I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me (Proverbs 8.17).  When we keep the commandments, even the smallest ones, we open the way to the Lord, but he who ignores the Word sins: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matthew 6.34). They placed themselves in the way!

In their worship to the Most High, there were no longer requests, supplications, but praise. God had told them that His part in the work was being done, now it was their turn. So, before they got together to bear the baby, they worshiped the Lord. It was just a matter of the right time for Samuel to come to light. By faith they praised the One who fulfills His Word: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11.1).

After worshiping God, they returned to their land and did what was necessary in order for the promise to be fulfilled. Go back to your daily life, without fear of being happy, without looking elsewhere. He who trusts never suspects, right? They simply knew, they had no way to explain why, and they already acted like winners. For Hannah and Elkanah, the fight was over; now, it was time to follow the normal course.

Upon returning home, they were to proceed as heirs to the promise. Surely, they lived as if they had just been married. The failures of the previous times no longer bothered them. Everything had been made new with the Almighty’s yes. Samuel would come, for they had the testimony of the Most High. Hannah no longer had to pray in tears, but had to praise God even before her relationship with her husband.

The time had come for Elkanah to meet Hannah. The seed was planted, and nothing would prevent it from being generated. God was watching everything and would not allow any interference from the enemy in that gestation. It was the Lord who guided the male seed that would produce the covenant child. He accompanied the process from beginning to end (Psalms 139.13-16). He still does the same for those who attain His promise!

The Lord remembered Hannah, her faith, her persistence and what He promised to give her. The baby came with every chance to succeed, for it would lack nothing. When you were born into the Kingdom of God, the same thing happened. You came perfect to serve the Lord until the end of your life here!

In Christ, with love,

God of our worship! Teach us to walk with our heads held high before You, dedicating perfect worship to You, as Elkanah and Hannah did. Her struggle was rewarded by her faith shown in battle and for the victory. We thank You for her blessing!

We want to worship You, with holiness and fear, at dawn, when You expect to meet us. We receive love and help from You during the process of receiving Your holy favor!

We desire to know more of Your attributes: love, faithfulness and holiness. Only with them we will see You, and that matters most to us. Remember us and help us to live as it pleases You. You carry us in Your arms to the battles. Thus, no evil will overtake us!
