Therefore neither the priests of Dagon nor any who come into Dagon’s house tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day. 1 Samuel 5.5

When faith is imperfect, people see terrible things happen to them. The sad thing is that they won’t believe the Truth. That’s why, as well as bearing good witness, we have to intercede for them, so that the Lord will open their understanding. Until they come to God in the right way, they will live outside His love. Jesus said: No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:44).

The priests of that Philistine cult, where they chose a being who didn’t even exist, who was evil and had the cunning of Satan, created a rule that was respected by everyone: no one, not even they, could step on the threshold of Dagon. These authorities did this in order to trap the people in darkness and continue their dominion over them.

The evil of the leaders of all religions towards the people who follow them is tremendous. They deceive them so as not to lose them, because it is they who provide them with a source of income to survive. I would rather do manual labor and live with dignity than exploit someone by spreading lying speeches with no basis in the Word of the Lord. Run away from religious fallacy!

This is one of the worst mistakes, because it affects people’s feelings. To deceive people in the purity of the innocence of their souls is a criminal attitude. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11). God doesn’t want anyone to be deceived. So get a Bible and see if the preaching is in line with the Scriptures. If it is not, discard it immediately!

The lie of Dagon’s threshold spread. As long as the Philistines existed and resisted conversion, no one else set foot in that place, where the odd figure was penalized and shamed. Those days were special for those who left the island of Crete in Greece for southern Palestine, now the Gaza Strip. They left in search of good living conditions, but because they didn’t believe in the Truth shown to them, they remained ignorant. Mercy!

The worst was yet to come. The true Lord would prove to the Philistines that they were off the Path of Goodness, and so they should return the ark to its place and turn to the God of Israel, Creator of Heaven and Earth, who desires that all attain freedom (1 Timothy 2:3,4). Those men could have offered peace to Israel and learned to serve and live by the Word. However, once they preferred confrontation, they should have been prepared themselves!

I ask you: are you prepared for the Day of Judgment that will come to all (Amos 4.12)? Have you understood that you are a sinner and need to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior? The Master paid the price for your salvation so that your life could be transformed. He said: I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10.10b).
