To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”  Luke 4:18,19

One of the numerous missions of Jesus and therefore of Christianity is to set free those that are oppressed by the devil. This should never be understood as a struggle between capitalism and socialism, of different races or social classes, but only spiritual. Many people are infected with diseases, have lustful desires and have a promiscuous life; however, the message of the Gospel can truly deliver them, if they believe in the Lord.

The apostle Peter summed up the acts of Christ, when he said: He went about doing good and healing all the oppressed of the devil, because God was with him (Acts 10:38). Now, those that are saved are also clothed by the Holy Spirit to do the same things. However, by engaging in sin, many return to the realm of evil, and nothing else works out for them. One must repent and convert. Do that immediately!

The Church must leave any struggle and return to proclaiming liberty to the captives (Luke 4:18). Then faith will enter their hearts, and they will truly live, be enlightened by the revelation of the Word, and desire to know the Savior. Come to me, Christ´s invitation (Matthew 11:28), is available to all, as well as the assurance of victory. This glorious message has been lost over the centuries, but we must go back to proclaiming it to those who are hungry for the Truth.

When a person understands the Gospel, he wants to solve his problems. But no one will want this if he does not understand that evil binds him to sin, sickness, misery, and other sufferings. The divine work is not passive, but a real war against Satan and his demons. Therefore, the believer must be filled with the Holy Spirit and consecrated to be used by the Lord.

In proclaiming liberty to those who were under the influence of the devil, the Lord gave sight to those who could not see the troubled situation in which they were in. Then, when they realized their own spiritual shortage, they sought Him in public or in secret, and were delivered. For example, the sinner who anointed Jesus’ feet (Luke 7: 7-48), was not ashamed to come to Him and shed her tears. Before she did that, she was not ashamed to sin!

When the Father anointed us with the Holy Spirit and power – and did so with His Son – we were enabled to do the works that Jesus did. We were baptized with the same baptism and authorized to break the chains of the afflicted, like Christ did. But, unfortunately, many saved say they love the Savior, but they say they have more important things to do than serve Him. God have mercy on them!

The Most High has granted us His power for us to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. We are in a period of time when He does not take into account our mistakes of the past, but He asks all people throughout the world to repent, to convert, and thus enjoy the divine refreshing. Take your stance!

In Christ with love,

Our Deliverer and Lord! We have walked like the blind, but in our case blindness lies in the fact that we do not give Your Word its due place. We must open our eyes to Your Word, for our salvation and happiness are in it.

When we proclaim liberty to the captives, they will open themselves to the Truth; then they will seek You and will be saved. There is no way to believe if there is no one to preach, and no way preach the Gospel if no one is sent. Send us to do that which is good!

With eyes open to the Truth, people will see where the cause of their evils is, and we will set them free. We cannot fail to say that we are living in Your acceptable year, the year of the spiritual Jubilee. Halleluiah!
