For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.   Psalm 116.8

In the entire Bible, the Lord speaks about what He has done for man through the death of Jesus. Though there is much information about this, most of God’s people have not yet learned enough about their authority over the works of evil – sicknesses, sins, and temptations. It is necessary to examine the Scriptures, for they testify about our rights in Christ.

God did not send an angel or use a mere man to save us. He did so through His one and only Son. We have been set free from the powers of darkness and transported to the Kingdom of the Son of His love (Cl 1.13). If we do not believe in what Jesus has done in our favor we will the commit the worst mistake ever. Doing so means to be deceived by the devil; it is like declaring that God does not deserve credit and that Calvary never existed. Mercy, Lord!

Because of the original sin, which we did not participate actively, we were forever condemned to suffer in the hands of the enemy, and would be forever lost after death. But the divine love prevailed in the heart of the Father. Therefore, He provided our rescue. We should nota allow the evil one to make us suffer.

We have been delivered from death – the nature of the devil that transforms man in a perverse being. A person that is not born again can be used in the worst carnal instincts by the father of lies. If he goes through a temptation, he will not think twice before harming his neighbor. Later, he will not even care with the moral or physical state of whomever he offended.

We cannot accept any harm from the devil, because we have been set free from the nature of Satan and all his evil in the Calvary. Therefore, we do not need to bow down to him. However, if we do not claim what was done for us when Christ paid our guilt with His blood, the enemy will try to bring everything back. Then, that pain will make us weep. Consider yourself freed!

We should not accept any kind of evil in our lives. On the contrary, we have been forever delivered from any operation of the enemy. Even if he may tempt us, he will not strike us, for we are outside the area of his operation. Our eyes should shed tears, but only of joy, never of bitterness.

After all, those who were redeemed have been set free from the effects of the fall. Therefore, take notice to what happens to you. If there is anything that makes you live under a level of dignity, claim for your independence and do not accept to return to slavery. For those who belong to God, the only position that is reserved for you is to be the head, and not the tail; to be on top and not in the bottom (Dt 28.13).
