Because they rebelled against His Spirit, so that he spoke rashly with his lips.

Psalm 106: 33

The children of Israel committed a huge mistake as they irritated a servant of God. Well, anybody who’s been irritated might make wrong decisions. Moses was used to withdraw water from a rock just as The Lord had promised he would (Numbers 20: 8); yet, that situation ended up causing him too great a harm. How many marriages are broken on account of a spouse who is responsible for getting into their partner’s nerves? Being wise is always the best way to go for.

Now, just imagine what the outcome of those who get into the nerves of The Spirit of God is. That is, undoubtedly, the worse attitude someone may ever take. The Holy Spirit is meek, gentle and polite; therefore, being Him the Comforter Jesus promised to send to us (John 15: 26), it is absolutely prudent and good to accept His instructions. Yet, when we insist on doing what we believe to be the best thing to do we are not making the right decision, and He might get irritated with us in the end.

The Holy Spirit does get irritated with a Christian who asks for His guidance; yet, they despise it once it is granted. Not a few commit such an error. In fact, even without having asked for counselling, in case we are granted it, we must accept it because that is, by all means, the best advice we may ever get. The Comforter is aware of everything that is spoken in The Heavens and He knows all the devil’s strategies. That is the reason why His advice is always the wisest.

The children of Israel led Moses into such a nerve-racking state; and by doing so, he spoke rashly with his lips as he hit the rock twice, but then he experienced a great suffering shortly after for what he had done (Numbers 20: 12). If, at that point, the chosen one of God had been meek he would have made the right decision which was just speaking to the rock. Thus, he could not enter The Promised Land which he was supposed to lead the people to, so as to being in line with the divine calling he had received.

Do not let the enemy use you in order to have a man of God not pay heed to the words of The Holy Spirit. Well, any servant of The Most High may get irritated and then and act in disagreement with the divine plan. In some cases they can even be submitted to a quite serious penalty even though they might have done so to do well to the holy people. Therefore, look out not to be accountable for causing any scandal that might make someone else suffer due to a reckless attitude of yours.

You are likely to make a chosen child of God go too far and, as you do so, you will end up being accountable for the punishment they might get. That is why the best thing to do is always turning to Heavens for counselling over what one must or must not do. Unfortunately, not everybody can cope with temptations successfully. Once a sin is committed it is pointless to cry over the spilt milk.

Before questioning or demanding something to be done, you must look for the counselling of The Lord. Be careful not to be too pushy on someone in order for you to get what you want because that may not be the will of The Almighty. You had better end up empty-handed rather than acquiring it by making unhappy someone who has favoured you. All the time our spiritual garment must be pure (Ecclesiastes 9: 8a).

In Christ, with love,
