17/10/2010 - TWO IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP

If we had forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a foreign god, (Psalm 44:20)

    The psalmist instructed us not to commit two serious mistakes: forget the name of our God and seek a foreign god. The Name of the Lord not only gives us victory over the forces of darkness, but also leads us to salvation. Indeed, it is worth numbering all the things He helps us to have.

    Whoever expects help from a strange god makes a double mistake because only the Lord is God, He is our strength, and forsaking Him is a huge mistake. As for the so-called gods, trying to pose as the true God, they are actually demons who besides not being of any help they also complicate things for those who trust in them (I Corinthians 10:19-22). However, they tremble when a Christian mentions the name of the Lord to rebuke their threats.

    All the evil spirits were defeated by Jesus upon His death on Calvary and subsequent resurrection. The person seeking help from those losers is actually doing the opposite of what he should really do because he is not aware that those demons cause the scourges that plague mankind. These creatures are ruthless oppressors, they do not know what love is, they resent our position in Christ and live around us like a roaring lion seeking whom they may devour (I Peter 5:8).

    It has already been said to the Israelites that God is the only Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4) and therefore they should be alert to the fact that He alone has the final word. This means that cancer, Aids, or any other disease, does not exert any lordship because only our Father fulfills His promises. As to the deadliest disease, it will not be able finish its work of destruction if someone who knows the power of the precious name of Jesus crosses its path. He is working and will help you work too in favor of those who believe in Him.

    The Name of Jesus has been given for us to cast out demons (Mark 16:17-18), because in Him there is such a great power that the devil beats a retreat at the slightest utterance of His name. With His name, Peter and John, at the Beautiful Gate, ordered a paralytic to get up and walk and he did (Acts 3.1-10)! With His name, the apostle Paul commanded the demon to come out of a young fortune teller and it obeyed (Acts 16:16-18). It is with this name, dear reader, that you can demand his departure, which will occur.

    So, never forget that name. Whenever it is necessary, be sure to use it. As you pray, do mention it so that you can draw near the Father.  When praying, make use of this powerful name, which is above any other name. In Him you can surely overcome any force!
