Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the Day of Judgment. 2 Peter 2.9

The Apostle Paul highlights in this verse that the Lord knows how to do two things. Undoubtedly, He knows how to do all things. However, the way that it is written shows that the Most High has already decided to execute these two things. He will certainly fulfill what He has determined. The people who do not believe or do not care about this biblical declaration will suffer the attacks of the enemy, for their attitudes will hinder them from being saved from the aggressions of Hell.

For the Apostle, God knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, a process that is very elaborated by the evil one, in which the servant of the Most High almost loses himself. In some cases, he enters inside a whirlwind, and it seems for him like doing evil is the best option. The demons try to convince him to think in what is forbidden, and he sees no way out of it. However, the saved ones who are under temptation need the prayers of the other members of the Body of Christ.

No one is tempted for being evil, but for being good. The devil makes an enormous effort to show to the child of God, through temptations, that the circumstances are not as the Lord said, that there will be no punishment if he accepts a couple of evil offers, and that they will even do him good. A person under temptation sees himself like a victim, and finds reasons to be unfaithful, dishonest, or evil. After all, the devil has already acted on one side, and therefore, many fall in his “fairy tale”.

The only way of being freed from a temptation is entering in prayer and being frank with the Lord, confessing your involvement and asking wholeheartedly that He might free you from that situation. Whoever is sincere in his prayer will be attended, but those who are led by the lies of the devil – pretending that they do not want it, but in fact, enjoy the evil offers – will not be attended. Therefore, always be sincere with God.

The other thing that the Most High knows very well how to do is reserve the unjust under punishment for the Day of Judgment. In this day, there will be no mercy. All who go to Judgment will receive their sentence, which will be eternal. So why should you be unjust and suffer the eternal punishment?

The unjust were taught to practice good and had the understanding of the divine will, but they did not do as they were ordered. Now, it is very serious when a person is guided by the Most High and allows himself be led by the lies of the enemy, for there is no greater injustice than despising what God told you. See if you do not fit in this group, for if you know what the Lord has ordered you to do, and you do not do it, your loss will be great.

Why should you exchange eternal happiness for a never-ending suffering? Is it worth making this decision? Would it not be best to walk with your head raised, knowing that you will never feel guilty, since you never did any evil to people nor ceased practicing what is good? Neutrality does not exist. He who knows what is good and does not do it, acts wrongly.

In Christ, with love,

God of love, how can humans enter in such a process of mental alienation that they come to despise life and love death? How can someone have studied so much, learned so many things that prove Your existence, and then say that he does not believe that You exist?

I loved to know that You can deliver the godly out of temptations. Therefore, I always want to be a person who respects You, does Your will, and will not stop believing in You for nothing. How beautiful it is to be able to live inside Your will, enjoying everything that You have for Your children!

Our prayer is in favor of those who do not respect You, the unjust. They need to have their eyes opened to see the truth. Undoubtedly, there is an evil force over the lives of these people that hinder them from contemplating You. Lord, we ask You for mercy!
