….since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;  Colossians 1:4

The Colossians showed two virtues that caused the apostle Paul to call his group of workers in order to pray for them, for they were taking seriously the order Jesus gave to have faith in God and love one another. Thus, their attitudes were talked about in such a way, that even the very experienced Paul prayed for them, giving thanks to God and asking for them to be filled with the knowledge of divine grace.

Normally, when the Church decides to fulfill the Lord´s order, it only thinks about the lost ones, and many times, it forgets that there are brethren who are suffering because they don’t understand what is prepared for them in Christ. It is necessary to teach them that Jesus came to give us abundant life and things to do in order to enjoy from the works that were previously prepared for us.

We must remember the imperfect saved ones that faith must not be a reason to be proud of, but it must be used in their favor and of other people, whether they are saved or not. The message we have to announce to the world is complete, for it solves all problems and leads people to be a blessing for mankind.

Now, the saved ones are special people because they gave ear and accepted the calling from God. If we teach them how to take possession of the blessings, we will do good to them and to us, because once they have grown in faith, they can be used to assist us in some way. The truth is that we should seek the spiritual gifts more, and afterwards, share them with the other believers. Thus, we will fulfill divine will.

It is fair to do charity – give God´s love – to the poor of this world; however, we must not forget about those who have faith already. It is sad when someone sits beside a brother who does not have the same understanding they have and they don’t even give a cup of cold water to this person who is also a member of the Body of Christ (Matthew 10:42). What we do to one of the least who believe in Jesus, we do it to the Lord (Matthew 25:40).

Those who have proved the love of the Father must extend it to the other people; thus, the law of the Gospel will be fulfilled. We do not have the knowledge of the truth for us to be an island of blessed ones. The goal is to make our brethren also enjoy of the wonderful results that faith in Jesus gave us. The gifts of the Holy Spirit must be used to help those in need, but especially, the saved ones.

When we hear about a person who is doing great in the grace of God for helping other people, we must soon pray for them. Without a doubt, they have discovered the secret to be saved and fulfill the law of Christ. If possible, we must pray for them so that they are complete and perfect in fulfilling their Christian duty. That certainly pleases the Father.

In Christ, with love,

God of love and faith! The colossians understood Your will towards all and soon they went to the brethren to help them. May this example be followed by everyone who has listened to Your orders. Thus, several people will be blessed.

By acting through faith, they delivered the brethren from unnecessary suffering, because they were members of Your body. We need Christians today that do the same thing, for many people are giving room to the devil, and because of that, they suffer his attacks. Mercy!

Besides the faith in Christ, they embraced the brethren with the love of God. May this take place in all parts of the world where the Gospel has arrived, so that when people see you doing this, many people will imitate this attitude and please Him. Lord, may we always have these two virtues!
