16/03/2013 - TWO VIRTUES THAT PRESERVE

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.

Psalm 25.21

There is no greater security than walking in integrity and uprightness. Those who do that will find, at the end of life, that these two qualities protected them from all attacks from the devil. The devil does not play games, so you must be prepared for all kinds of temptations. Satan will tempt you with all his power to make you stray from God’s path.

A person who does not have integrity, despite achieving great victories and receiving applause from others, will feel so bad that he will not be able to enjoy the fruit of his success. So, if you have achieved success without integrity, you need to be honest and confess your sin. It is better to be “on the yellow” for some time than being “on the red” for your entire life. Those who rely on lack of integrity will not be preserved, since it is one of the facets of the evil one.

Those who walk the path of righteousness will never trip. If you have to lie, deceive or do anything else forbidden in the Holy Scriptures to achieve success, do not do it, because those who fall into temptation become trapped in the hands of the devil. Satan does not know love, compassion, mercy or forgiveness. He is inflexible towards those who have fallen into his traps. That is why you should never do anything that will make you owe anything to the evil one.

In order to be guarded by the Lord God, all you need to do is walk in integrity and uprightness. This may seem difficult at first, but over time, something that required great effort will become easy and useful. The devil cannot touch people who do not give into his temptations, because the Lord keeps his eyes on them all the time. Those who strive to do good will not be frustrated.

He who lacks integrity may have victories and be considered great in the eyes of men, but sadly he will find out one day that he was serving the devil. So everything that is in his hands will burn and, in many cases, this will happen too late and he will not be able to repent. The best thing you can do is to obey the Lord, and He will help you walk in righteousness.

Those who insist in walking the tortuous path will fall into an abysm. In that endless, dark pit they will spend eternity falling and being tormented day and night. Live in integrity and uprightness. If you do that, your future will be bright.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
