When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.   Genesis 4:12

He who fell into temptation, while not truly repenting, will remain under the action of the devil that led them to error. That is what happened to Cain after he killed his brother. Besides being rude when he was questioned by the Lord, he realized that his error would not be covered up. Such act damned him, for it caused the earth to open its mouth to receive his brother´s blood (verse 11). Those who commit sin and do not repent will suffer great loss. 

It was a sad day when Cain – who did not want to belong to God and therefore was of the evil one – killed his brother. He premeditated it all, leading his brother to the field to kill him because of the offer the Lord refused to receive from him and only accepted Abel´s. If he had prayed, he would know how to offer and therefore he would have worked harder to give his best, and would have been rewarded with divine approval. Fight in order to receive the Most High´s favor and not be despised by Him. 

Cain´s sentence was very harsh. When he tilled the ground, it would no longer yield it´s strength to him. Likewise, today, those who have sinned are in the hands of the enemy, and no matter how hard they struggle, they don’t find peace. Unless they convert and are born again, their life will always be a succession of failures. There is nothing worse than being under curse. By themselves such people will never be able to free themselves without repentance. 

From the moment Cain tried to deceive God, receiving the divine sentence because of his error, he became a fugitive and an errant. The same thing has happened to those that are led by temptation. Once they have obeyed the enemy, they will no longer be happy or have peace. The wicked will never find rest if they don’t reconcile with those they have fooled and with the Lord God himself. 

The gift of salvation is available to all those that believe in the message of the Gospel. Those that leave it for alter miss the opportunity of coming back to communion with the Most High. Now, as the Omniscient, the Almighty knows of the plans of the enemy against all people, and because of that, not only does God want to give salvation to everyone, but He also wants to avoid people to suffer the attacks of the wicked one.  Unfortunately, many people will not give ear to Him. 

Why reject the divine invitation when it is given to you? Why delay the act of getting rid of all the devil´s wishes and seek for forgiveness only after the devil has caused you so much harm? Now, many scars and sad memories would not exist if the Lord had been answered. Cain did not answer the first touch, and afterwards he realized that it is not worth to commit an error, and so he ran away as an errant. What do you expect to be if you continue transgressing? 

Answer what the Father speaks to you through His Word and run from the offers Satan makes you. The error, no matter whether it is small or insignificant, will surely not be worth the loss that you will suffer. Many times, the Lord sent prophets to lead the people of Israel back to its land, but they preferred to sin, and afterwards paid the price for disobeying. Mercy! Be wise and avoid the worst!
