When you roam, they will lead you; when you sleep, they will keep you; and when you awake, they will speak with you.  Proverbs 6.22

If we think about it, our daily routine is similar to what happens in the spiritual life. To walk God’s path is like following lines on a map—those who do so will arrive at their destination safely. Whenever God opens your understanding for something in his Word, even if it seems insignificant to you, take possession of this revelation, because it is undoubtedly the best.

There is a time to stand still and a time to walk (Ecclesiastes 3.1). We must admit that we are easily taken by greed. Man desires to store up more and more. Some people end up losing their health because they work too much and want to continue earning lots of money, so they work even more. In relation to faith, many people act in the same manner. However, it is necessary to stop to get some rest and hear the Most High. When it is time to walk, do it by fearing the Lord.

When you walk in God’s promises, you should always be guided by respect for God’s matters. Never consider yourself better, stronger or more anointed than others. Even if the Father is using you in a powerful manner, remember that you are only human, therefore you have limitations. By being eager to do more than others, many people have disrespected their own limits. But after they come to their senses, they realized that it was purely illusion.

There are moments when we must sleep, but we will remain under God’s care. There is nothing wrong in taking a break to recover your strength, and refreshed, you will be able to resume the battle stronger and better prepared. Those who deprive themselves from resting are wasting strength which they will lack later. Nevertheless, in these times, watch so that the enemy will not use you.

Following the sleep is the awakening of the promises that are revealed to bless us. And our love of God will make us hear what he has to say to us. After hearing his voice, there is nothing we should wait for, because the Lord always goes ahead of us. With God paving the way, opening doors, destroying obstacles and protecting us, nothing will prevent us from being successful.

Those who follow God’s directions never stray from his path, and God is faithful to lead us through the right path, not in the paths that will prevent us from reaching the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4.13). Therefore, when following the Lord, refrain from murmuring or complaining. This is the time when the Lord is preparing us for his good works. He will lead us step by step to the open path.

Be always obedient in doing that which has been revealed to you, so that you will not slip and fall. The best thing is to know that he will always lead us in triumph (2Corithians 2.14), and we will lack nothing. At the end of your walk, you will thank the Lord because you lacked nothing.

In Christ, with love,

Father, Teacher and Guide, thank you for your promise to lead me while I walk your path. Because of this promise, I ask you to help me not stray from this wonderful trail, which will lead me to meeting you.

During my sleep, you will always keep me and so I can rest, knowing that I am under your care and protection, and that the enemy will not take advantage of this important time of rest to attack me. Thank you for helping me at all times.

The best thing is to know that when I wake up, you will speak with me. These promises are made to me and to all those who trust in you. Therefore, Lord, we have everything we need to fight and win any battles in our lives. May our victory glorify you!
