For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” Galatians 3.10

There is a huge difference between people who try to justify themselves by their works according the the Law of Moses, and those who live under grace. Because there is no way to fulfill all that is required by the Old Oath, they live under the curse prescribed by it. However, those who live by grace have access to the promises of God, knowing that believing in the Word is enough.

Those who justify themselves because they keep the sabbath, or any other precept given by Moses, commits a big mistake. They put themselves outside the institution of grace. It´s as if they have renounced the work fulfilled by the Son of God that allowed us to serve him in a complete way, without accusations. Why should we reject what is better?

In grace, we only have to believe for sin not to dominate us any more. Whoever believes in the Lord has his faith imputed as justice. It is better to be in this New Pact then to go back to the terror of the law. There is no person, Christian or not, without the divine grace over their lives. This should be our message to every single person. When they believe, they will become beneficiaries. 

We are not free to sin after our redemption, because we are called to live a holy life. In the same way that there were cities used as shelters for the homicides who did not have the intention to kill, there is refuge in Jesus from the blood avenger. He is our shelter and fortress, our present refuge in times of trouble. Whoever takes part in the justification will be allowed to enter the presence of the Lord.

The homicide whose intention was to kill, were killed by the blood avenger. However, those that killed without intention could find shelter in these cities until there was a justice congregation formed in order to judge them. With this new institution brought to us by Jesus, it doesn’t matter who you were in the past, because you have found refuge in the Son of God, and the avenger cannot touch you.

Even when absolved, the homicide could not leave the city of refuge until the high priest died. If the guilty person left the city while that religious leader was alive and if he was found by the blood avenger, his life could be eliminated and no trials were required for his death. In the same way, whoever stands back from grace falls right back on the hands of the executors who bring them punishment. Why not just stay in the place were God has chosen as the best place for His children?

After the death of the priest he could go back to his portion. In Christ we are safe, because we have been acquitted. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and walk according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Why shouldn’t we live according the law of freedom?
