O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle.
Psalm 140:7
In addition to eternal salvation, which is the greatest blessing that we may receive from God, faith is unquestionably of utmost importance because through it we get to believe in God, to know Him and to love Him. Through faith, we are freed of superstitions which can lead us to having strange and oppressive attitudes, as well as to making mistakes which bind us to religious practices that have nothing to offer. Through faith, we are empowered enough to rebuke the forces of evil and destroy the hosts that attack us.
The individual who has faith must express himself because even his language becomes higher than that of most people. Moreover, faith makes him invincible, powerful and lively, but without it he becomes an unbeliever or a religious bigot. If he becomes an unbeliever, he will be surrounded by wickedness, which will prevent him from knowing the Creator; whereas if he becomes a religious bigot he will take to practicing rituals that are spiritually useless. This happens in all societies and religions. However, genuine faith, which comes by the Word of God, sets people completely free and enables them to love the Lord Jesus.
Loving God is to have and keep His commandments (John 14:21), and this is the most important thing in life. In proceeding this way, we find out that the Lord is the strength of our salvation, and therefore we have the boldness to claim what belongs to us in the wonderful divine plan, putting into operation the righteousness of the Most High. My brother, do not be shy or cowardly when claiming what belongs to you, but rather do it in the name of Jesus and the Almighty will take action to fulfill His promises.
God’s children should not think they will not have battles to fight, after all the Word of God warns us about the war against the forces of hell. The evil powers do not give up and they make us suffer, so if we do not act according to what is taught in the Word, we lose the battles. By
being faithful to what is written, we need not fear the onslaughts of the enemy because we shall overcome them.
Psalm 140:7 assures us victory because it declares that the Lord will cover our heads, which means He will come upon us like a shield, preventing the opponent from leading us to wrong paths. No! That will not happen if we are faithful to the Word of God.
When you are fighting the battles of the Lord, believe that He is covering your head and protecting your thoughts. Do not get away from the instructions of the Word of God for they are fundamental in those battles. By following the Lord’s directions, you nullify the ability of the evil one since the Lord stands by all those who do His will.
