And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. Deuteronomy 28.51

The worst thing that can happen to any person is for the devil to be allowed to act in their life. This situation not only has a sad and painful beginning, but it also ends with the destruction of that life and that of his family. We cannot play with God’s warnings or disregard them. The Lord knows everything that will happen to us, even to the last day of our existence (Psalm 139.16). His warnings are serious and will be fulfilled. Be on the alert!

One may enjoy a good salary, but when he finds himself under the command of the forces of darkness, his condition worsens until he is unable to resist. Then the one who has despised the Lord realizes his foolish attitude. The Scriptures say, Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4.8). This is the time for you to prepare yourself for eternity!

We must obey the Word, which commands us to preach the Holy Gospel at all times under the direction of the Lord: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching (2 Timothy 4.2). Now, the Most High has declared that to obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15.22); therefore, those who have the judgment of God should make every effort to testify about the Lord Jesus!

Announcing the Good News is the obligation of the saved, but not everyone is invited to do so at the altar of God. The best preaching comes from a heart full of divine grace. If Israel had been faithful, spending voice and time to minister to the nations around them, whose responsibility they were given, they would have become the Lord’s chosen people. The Israelites would speak the Truth, people would convert to God, and their own people would have been delivered from slavery in Babylon.

Examine yourself before the Word and see in how many points you are at fault. In the Lord, there is no wickedness, but probably in you. Transgression only leads to perdition. The curses would come instead of blessings in the life of the Israelites, if they did not wake up to the reality of the Almighty’s warnings. What He forbids has a greater reason behind it: our eternal happiness. Be sensitive to what the Father proclaims!

When David fell into sin with Bathsheba and was later responsible for the death of her husband Uriah, he was told that the sword would not leave his house: Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife (2 Samuel 12.10). In the same way, you should feel informed and ready to fulfill the Lord’s plan, because He would not warn anyone except to help.

Of one thing you can be sure: whoever sins and does not repent will be condemned. There is only one way to get rid of your sin: by repenting. This is the time for you to get right with God. So, when your time comes to leave this earth, you will meet Him on the other side. Get ready!
