“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5)
We needn’t lack anything, but, in case that happens, all we’ve got to do is ask God because His hands are always open to bless us and He doesn’t humiliate us with the memories of our sins. In fact, there’s always a blessing for whenever we need it.
Those who fear the Most High will never lack wisdom because the principle of wisdom in a Christian’s life is to respect the Lord (Psalm 111: 10; Proverbs 1: 7). Well, if men don’t respect the will of God they don’t take that sacred quality as the ground line of their lives either. We live our lives wisely as we’ve got the divine commandments and as we keep them; with them we can get the whole picture of the project of God in detail. On the other hand, those who haven’t got wisdom live their lives as though the Lord isn’t living inside them; so they fall whenever tempted.
The enemy manages to make many servants of the Lord live their lives as though the gift of wisdom wasn’t granted to them. According to James, everybody has got that so precious gift, but if they lack it, all they’ve got to do is to cry out to the Almighty God. Yet, they should examine themselves before if they’re indeed fulfilling what they’ve been told to do and also if they’re fulfilling their own will or the Lord’s. Once they’re sure they’ve been doing what’s written in the Word they can ask God for the blessing and believe they’ll be granted it.
James says that the Most High gives freely to those who’ve asked Him something, and that means that God has got His arms always stretched out to us. So, there’s no need for men to pretend to be good or to flatter our Master in order for Him to grant them such gift or any other one. My brother, you need only to ask whenever you’re taking an attitude according to a biblical promise – Do determine with faith and you’ll promptly get what you want. Now, it’s pointless to ask if you don’t believe you’ll get it.
It’s also important to remember the fact that our Father doesn’t accuse us derogatively; He doesn’t remember our past wrongdoings. If any of your errors crosses your mind when you’re praying, you’ve got to confess your sin and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Then, you must forget that error forever; a forgiven transgression becomes inexistent in the eyes of God; after all, He doesn’t recall our past occurrences (Hebrews 8:12). Remember, the Most High will never humiliate you for your past wrongdoings and His Word will always be fulfilled.
James was firm when he said that you’ll get what you need if you ask for it. In fact, you’ll receive wisdom for sure. So, our Father will never refuse to grant you such wonderful gift under no circumstances. Isn’t that beautiful, my brother? Are you lacking wisdom? Then, pray and determine that our Father will give you that gift. And there’s more: other needs you might have will also be met. If you need healing or a solution to sort out your financial issues, fight spiritually against everything that oppress you and begin asking for your blessing, seek it and determine you’ll get it. When you behave that way you’ll see that the Lord wants that His children will lack nothing.
In Christ, with love,
