But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me. Psalm 26.11

If we do not fulfill the plan that the Lord revealed for our lives, we will walk alone, and thus, we might walk in the wrong way. Those who think that they can follow their own will and that with a request for forgiveness they will have the divine power operating in their favor must be careful. The person who sins deliberately will see that it is more difficult to restore a broken relationship (2 Pe 2.20-22). God is not evil, but He is also not a fool. Be careful with the enemy!

The best thing is to be always upright (Ps 18.25). Then, if you have the conscience that you are walking away from the Most High and allowing the destroyer to find breaches in your character, do not try to look like you are innocent. God looks to the motives of the heart and not what an evil mouth says (Mt 15.8). He knows what is inside of man, and whenever there is evil, this person is in a bad situation. However, the upright will be helped in the time of temptation.

The Lord is a Shield for those who walk uprightly (Pv 2.7). The reason that made someone do something wrong and sin will always be uncovered before Him. If a person confesses his wrongdoing and asks for forgiveness, God forgives and helps him, so that he might not transgress again nor be under Satan’s yoke (Pv 28.13). However, the deceivers and liars will pay for the price of their mistake.

Times after David wrote this, the Most High appeared to Solomon, after he built the House of God, the house of the King, and everything he had desired to do, and told him that if he walked before God as his father had walked, with an upright heart and integrity to fulfill everything that he was told, his throne would be confirmed forever (1 Kg 3.5-14). The Lord himself gave the testimony of David’s integrity.

After David said he was upright, he asked God to deliver him. The Lord knows that we are not perfect and we make many decisions wrongly. However, if we are honest and do not try to hide anything from Him when we cry for His deliverance, we will be attended. Now, this is everything that He needs to disentangle us from temptations, which will lead us to pervert our way. God always answers the pure in heart (Ps 73.1).

After all, the king implored that God might have mercy on him. This is a request from someone who knows that, although he had not left the divine presence, he could not advance unless the Lord would pity him. In fact, the temptation is like a torment that, after passing, always leaves a destructive trail. In the same way that we must clean the streets and remove fallen trees and branches, we need the divine help to clean us completely.

The Lord has mercy on us, and opens His arms to receive us again in His communion. Thus, our heart starts having joy again and seeking the presence of the Father. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them (Pv 11.3). The upright prove that they love the Most High, and the opposite is also true.

In Christ, with love,

Most High and faithful God! May our hearts be always upright in all moments. It would be better if we never fell in temptations, but even if we do not listen to the desires in the torment, a lesson will be taught to us after it is gone.

You spoke to Solomon concerning the uprightness of his father and told him that if he walked before You with an upright heart, his kingdom would be established forever. In this way, his sons would continue his kingdom, as David said.

Unfortunately, Solomon allowed his heart to be perverted in the end of his life, and for this reason, only part of the promise was fulfilled. May this not happen to us! May we be examples of uprightness not only for our own, but also for those that are outside.
