10/06/2012 - Watch your attitudes!

It is honourable for a man to stop striving, since any fool can start a quarrel.

Proverbs 20: 3

Quarrelling has been happening since humans began existing on the face of the earth because the sin committed by Adam caused the human soul to go mad. That is the reason why men mess up with things and get involved with situations which do not concern them. On top of that, those people who do not fear The Lord like to show themselves as superior and some of them even take attitudes as though they were judges. Yet, “he who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a dog by the ears” (Proverbs 26: 17), and he will end up being hurt.

The Word states that it is not prudent for a servant of God to quarrel (II Timothy 2: 24); yet, we find Christians everywhere who keep arguing as regards to faith. Well, nobody will come to Christ if our Father, The One who sent Jesus, does not take them to Him. Therefore, you absolutely must not discuss religion; on the contrary, ask The Lord for wisdom so whenever you are enquired on religious matters you may just leave the incorruptible Seed planted there and then be off quietly (I Peter 1: 23).

Being aware that The Most High is pleased with a child of His who stops getting into arguments, you must get used to staying away from all kinds of arguments, even gossiping. It is not convenient for a person who has the heavenly wisdom to come down to the spiritual level of that person who has no knowledge, not in the least, about what The Truth is really about. Those who get into arguments are stripped of common sense; therefore, most of the time the best choice is to allow ourselves to be harmed rather than getting into an argument for what we reckon to be our rights.

The best thing we can do is to be the joy of The Lord at all times. He shall reward us each time we, for His sake or for the Gospel’s sake, leave behind any bad habit. Yet, there are some “brothers” who turn to judges who do not believe in God to plead for what they consider to be their rights; yet, that attitude is banned by The Word.

People who do not fear The Lord are called, in the Word, as foolish (Proverbs 1: 7). When God uses someone to teach them a lesson, unfortunately they tend to equal themselves to the riff-raff; then they get puffed up with pride, and they declare themselves as the part who has been offended, robbed and almost always they go to court. Yet, they do not know that they will lose a lot as they take that attitude.

Apart from not fulfilling The Word of God those who get into arguments (show) signal the fact that they have not learnt yet that it is quite easy to start quarrelling, but it is awfully hard to come out of it. Thus, the devil who told those people lies is preventing them now from accepting any opposite idea. Then they begin hating those who they believe have taken something from them and, by being disobedient, they become an easy prey to the enemy. Precisely for that reason, any harm which you can bear to avoid having any demons inside you is very profitable indeed.

Therefore, you must stay away from everything that might cause you any harm to your soul and you ought to never despise the wise counsels of our eternal Father. He knows the reason why He has allowed certain things to happen in your life. After all, that is how He trains His children on the divine ways. Be always dependant on The Lord and never turn away from Him. One day, He will sit on his throne and then He will give the due reward to all those who left everything behind for His cause.

In Christ, with love,
