But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels.

Psalm 81.11-12

To heed the Creator is to learn from the wisest Being in the universe. In addition to being who he is, he is our Father; so he always gives us good advice. Nothing compares to the wisdom that comes out of the lips of the Most High, which is ministered to those who are willing to heed him. Those who learn from the Lord, who is gentle and lowly in heart (Matthew 11.29), become victorious.

Because of Adam’s sin, man tends not to heed the voice of God. People know that the Lord never lies, and that he knows all things and his counsels are always good, but when they need to choose between their desires and what the Lord says, the devil almost always wins. Later sadness and despair set in, and those who did not heed the voice of God ask to be forgiven and promise to make things right.

It is hard to believe, but man runs away from life, and human nature seeks death. We must resist satisfying our carnal desires; otherwise we will burn in the eternal fire. He who seeks success but does not want to join the wicked must take a position in Christ and overcome all evil barriers preventing him from bowing before the Lord God. Beware of the eternal death!

The man that seeks to satisfy the desires of his heart, despite them being filthy or evil, does not heed the Holy Spirit. And what is worse, he is blind, because he cannot see the abysm in front of him. He gives up the Lord for a temporary and false happiness, and later his suffering will only increase.

The truth is that human beings always seek to walk in their own counsels. We are quick to decide without thinking and end up pleasing the devil, instead of making him angry. When we are facing temptation, we must remember God’s Word, otherwise we will fall. Think about the decisions you have made without heeding the voice of God and brace yourself for consequences.

Next to each useful, licit and blessed thing granted to us by the Lord, the enemy creates and sets his filthy desires. Our decisions must always be based on what our Father says, so that we will not stumble and fall. Never allow yourself to be fooled by the devil.

Heed the voice of God and his counsels, which are given to us through his Word, even if they go against your desires. If you act like that, you will never be shaken. The Lord has good reason to warn you. He wants the best for you, so he speaks to you through the Scriptures. Say yes to he who truly loves you.

In Christ, with love,
