He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32

The coming of Jesus wasn’t just a badly done patch in the destruction that Adam’s sin caused to humanity. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was the recreation of mankind in Christ. In the original creation, God examined everything and saw it was good. Later, in recreation, it was even better rbecause we weren’r remade of the dust of the earth, but by the Lord through Jesus. We are the Trinity’s masterpiece! Even so, we still need to understand our potential in the Lord.

If Jesus hadn’t been born, if He had given up on surrendering His live at Calvary and going down to hell to face Satan and his demons, or if he hadn’t been vivified after His victory over death, we would be lost. However, He wasn’t afraid and wasn’t defeated. The Master overcame and took the keys of death and hell from the accuser (Revelation 1:18). Our Savior is Almighty!

When we are saved and baptized in the waters, God seals us with the Holy Spirit so we will receive divine virtue, which makes us able to accomplish the same works Jesus did and even greater ones (John 14:12). The completion of recreation is when the Savior fills us with the Holy Spirit. Then, we can’t think about quitting because we’ve received His virtues to fulfill His purposes. Those who fall back cause the Divine One to not take pleasure in them anymore (Hebrews 10:38).

Jesus knew what awaited Him in the garden of Gethsemane, so He prayed and asked the Father that, if possible, the cup of crucifixion would be passed away from Him; the answer was no, so He said: “May Your will be done” and marched on to Calvary in obedience to God’s plan. The Father abandoned Jesus when He took our sins upon Him. Our Redeemer fought hell by Himself and defeated it!

Every believer has a position of supremacy upon the forces of darkness. The demons were defeated by the Lamb and Satan, their boss, was also defeated. The victory belongs to Jesus and to those who believe in what He did. We don’t have to defeat the devil again, but to be subject to God and resist the tempter so he will flee from us (James 4:7). As children of the Most High, we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).

The verse we’re studying says that God didn’t spare even His own Son. To the contrary, He surrendered His Son for us as an offer for our sins. We can become one with Jesus and, consequently, with the Father. Paul asks: How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Everything is ours – peace, health, prosperity and all the other blessings that were purchased with the blood of our Savior. Take hold of your victory instead of asking for it!

As crazy as this might sound, there are Christians asking God to give what is already theirs. We can ask for wisdom and use it with our authority in Christ: Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). When you pray and claim something, believe it is yours (John 14:13).

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Lord! We thank You for providing the work of redemption in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Because of it, we are called Your children, which makes us rejoice and strengthens our faith in You. You are beautiful!

You did everything to redeem us from perdition, sending Your only Son to Calvary to give His life on our behalf. Forever we will remember Your love for us as the greatest benefit we could ever receive!

He was given for us to carry our iniquities and transgressions. Now, not only we have been set free from eternal condemnation, but we’ve also inherited all things with Him. Thank You, Father!
