When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me! Luke 8:28

The demon-possessed man was one step away from an irreversible alienation. He did not have a house, was always naked, and was extremely violent. Every attempt to bring him to reality, by chaining him on his feet and putting handcuffs on his hands, did not work. He would get himself loose and returned to the tombs, where he liked to stay. The reason why Christ ordered the disciples to go to the other side of the sea was to set him free.

The Lord knew that his life was precious, as everyone else’s. Therefore, He went to the land of the Gadarenes. The servants of God must be watchful to His directions. Certainly, there are many people being used by the devil, but the Savior wants to see them set free. It is enormously joyful to be an instrument of the Lord to do good to the needy. Always obey the direction from High.

Crossing the lake was difficult. Since the disciples ignored the Master, He went to sleep. In the same way, if we do not learn from Him or live according to what has been revealed to us, the devil can threaten us. The boat started to fill with water, so they woke up Jesus. Then, He rebuked the wind and the waters, and everything calmed down. He asked them why they didn’t have faith. Those who listen to the Word receive faith to use it against any evil.

Since God wants to set the oppressed free, He drives us to the places where there are needy people. For us, this means more blessings now and in the future as well. It is good never to complain about our mission. Since we are saved, we must serve those who are set apart from eternal salvation. The will of the Lord is that no one might get lost, but that all may come to repentance and deliverance.

After they crossed the lake, the demon-possessed man came to Jesus. The Master did not fear or seek for protection – He was the Protection for that life. We should act in the same way. It does not matter how someone may come to us. The servants of God received power to set free the oppressed (Mt 10:8). After all, he who believes is sent by the Most High and receives authority over the devil. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me! (Luke 8:28) The enemy spoke through that man, trying to deceive the Lord that that soul belonged to Satan, and that it was unfair to set him free. The devil always lies, and as he deceived Adam in the Garden of Eden, he seeks to deceive us.

When that man saw Christ, he asked Him for help, but the evil one tried to destroy that poor victim. Whoever sees the Lord through the Scriptures has their deliverance guaranteed. The revelation is like a decree from the Father in your favor. You only need to believe for the work to happen!

In Christ, with love,

Lord! You set decrees in our favor in order to deliver us from the evil forces that enslave us. Thus, we can come back to be who You wanted us to be when You created us.

That man was one step away from total alienation, but as soon as he saw Your Son, the Savior, he did not continue under the devil’s authority any longer. We pray for those who are oppressed to be set free from persecutions, healed from their diseases, and saved.

By the Truth, we have escaped from the hands of the enemy. Thus, we ask You for anointing to understand and preach Your Word. Satan loses the power to dominate those who are away from You as long as we teach them about the Gospel. We thank You for loving and using us!
