I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright.
Leviticus 26.13
Your happiness as a child of God depends on your knowledge of the Lord as your God. The Most High does not want you to be afraid of him, but to respect him as the One who will guard and avenge you for any evil deeds carried out against your life, property or honor. The Lord values your life, because you are a member of his household (Ephesians 2.19). His good name is called upon you; in addition, the Covenant he made through the blood of Jesus ensures you his favor.
The Israelites were delivered from the Pharaoh and brought out of Egypt. Similarly, you too received deliverance, having been taken out of the kingdom of darkness – the kingdom of sorrow, of sin and all evil. Now you are part of God’s people, you are seated on heavenly places in Christ. Therefore, if anyone raises his hand to oppress or dishonor you, he will suffer the consequences, because the Most High knows how to do justice for those who are called by his holy name!
Because Christ has made you free, do not allow filthy spirits to enslave you. You must not let them use you in the sinful practices of those who are still under evil authority. Understand that, as a child of God who has been delivered, you have the obligation to change your life style. What used to dominate you in the past is now your slave, because you are the lord of your holiness.
You have been delivered, so do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5.1). If until now you have allowed the devil to use you to carry out his evil schemes, make the decision to change your behavior. You do not need time to say “no” to that which the devil offers you. Even if you were led by the devil to break God’s law, do not commit the same sin again. Stop all action of the kingdom of darkness in your life today!
The Word of God says that we were made to walk upright. So you must not bow before any sin, nor give into temptation. At this moment, demand the devil to stop making you indecent proposals. You have already accepted God’s proposal to live your life more abundantly (John 10.10); you must not subject yourself to anything that comes from Satan. You have been made free and, since the day you accepted Jesus as your Savior, you are no longer a slave.
The people of God need to become aware that they are partakers in God’s glory; so whatever is wrong in your life today must be expelled immediately. Do not let any evil thoughts enter your mind, nor allow any evil practice to make you a slave of Satan. This is the moment for you to start walking upright.
