“Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you.
Habakkuk 1:5
In this verse the Lord undoubtedly refers to the Gospel. Those who heed what the Good News tells them get astonished mainly because of what the apostle Paul calls foolishness of God. Our heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)! This is a kind of love no one would dare to have for sinners; for people who have the seed of evil in their heart.
Today, those who hear the word and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord are going through a process of recreation in which their spirit, their true self, is not healed or improved but rather redone. In this way, the new convert can and should take a position in Christ as if he had never sinned. It can happen to a good person as well as to someone who was used by the devil, for God acquits such a person.
He who does not consider what the Gospel says does not obtain enough light to enjoy the good things that have been made to him. The Lord solved all the problems of mankind with the death of Jesus on the Calvary and since then the door of heaven is open, and the invitation to enter it is for all people. God does not want His children to get lost in the deceptions of Satan. The promises and declarations that you understand through the Word belong to you.
Anyone who has fallen into sin knows how precious it is to be forgiven by the Lord. As soon as redemption occurs the devil can no longer touch the anointed of God and even if he tries he will not be able to get you out of the divine presence. Today is the day of Good News; the day of getting people marveled with what was done on their behalf. It is amazing! And the best part is that no one is forbidden to use the redemptive work of Jesus, for God placed mankind’s sin on His Son (II Corinthians 5:21).
The work has already been done, so all you need to do is to take possession of your new position in the face of all circumstances. From the position of being a servant of sin and, by extension, a slave of the devil, you become a brother of Jesus (Romans 8:17, Galatians 3:26), therefore there will be no condemnation in your life. So, when you are justified by the blood of the Son of God, you have peace with God, a life of accomplishment, and your suffering ends. This lesson is not only meant for you but for your family as well.
After having this understanding, what will you do now? Will you continue in suspense? Is it worth being unfaithful, for example, or using drugs? God has his hands outstretched toward you and can turn you into a new creature now, into someone with good purposes. So to this end, confess your sin and live victoriously for that is the knowledge of the Truth that makes us free (John 8:32).
