“Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)
Our Lord’s much more than what we can think. He’s the brightness of the glory of our Father, and the express image of His person; the One who upholds all things, the One who purged our sins; the One whose got all power in His hands. He lives in us!
The mystery of God is much more than what we can think of and what we can understand. He’s more than what our finite mind can understand. Our Father gave His Word and Jesus – the Son, the Verb and the Word of God – created all things. Adam’s sin brought chaos to this world but, one day, that same Word will make a huge bonfire in which the Earth, the Heavens and everything will be burnt and He’ll create new Heavens and earth (Revelation 21:1).
The biblical passage states that Jesus is the Brightness of the glory of His Father. That means that the more we learn from our Master, the more enlightened we’ll be. Even a quick glance at Him can enlighten us. There’s enough light in Christ for us to see the way outs that God has prepared to solve our problems and it’s precisely in that light that we can get acknowledgment. We’ll never be hit by the works of darkness when we’re walking with the Lord.
We can see our Father in Jesus (John 14: 9), for He’s exactly the express image of God. We can get a better picture of the Lord when we fully understand the Gospel. There are those who think Jesus is the good part of God, but that’s not true because there’s no evil bit in the Almighty God. He’s exactly the same as His Son. So the view we get from the Word shows us how our Father looks like; so those who understand IT can see the Lord.
Christ’s upholding all things and He keeps alive even those who don’t bow before Him. Even those who try to hamper the Way – Jesus and His work – are supported by Him. They’ll be condemned
to eternal woe one day; they stopped giving the Lord His due place in their lives and many of them say other “gods” are the authors of the blessings granted to them by the Most High.
Jesus went to the Saints of the Saints, in the Heavens, and purged our sins once He’s died on the Calvary cross. If someone who got involved with the worst errors confess their iniquities and asks for forgiveness, they’ll promptly be forgiven for all their wrongdoings (I John 1: 9). Our transgressions have already been purged and there’s nothing that can separate us from the love of God.
Jesus received all power in the Heavens and on Earth (Matthew 28: 18) after granting salvation to us. Now, the most important thing is that it’s present in all those that receive Him as their Lord and Saviour. What about you? Have you already received Him as your Saviour?
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
