20/07/2017 - WHAT GOD DOES NOT DESIRE

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever” Genesis 3:22

In order for man not to sin, the Lord called him and explained what would happen if he ate of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil.  If it were of no significance, there would not have been any need to make him understand the danger he was exposed to.

However, he did not pay the due attention and being tempted, he ate the fruit, jeopardizing and losing all he had gained from the Most High.  This way, he was condemned to suffer in hell eternally. Were it not for God’s love, we would never have been saved.

After Eve was contaminated by the serpent’s lies, she was curious and went to see how the fruit really was.  She liked what she saw and ate from it.  Then Adam did the same (Genesis 3:7) and both suffered spiritual death – they were cut off from God.  Soon man noticed he had lost contact with God.  The same has happened to many of the saved who disrespect the Word and fall into sin!

Even feeling the pain of betrayal, the Omnipotent, knowing that man would live eternally if he ate from the tree of life, had to expel him from the Garden of Eden, to work the land from which he was taken (Genesis 3:22,23).  The danger was in the closeness of man to the tree whose fruit once eaten, would make the person remain in the state found.  If lost, lost forever; if found and saved, saved forever.

The Almighty’s decision to expel man from the garden demonstrates that He does not want our eternal suffering because immediately after this, He placed cherubs to the east of the garden of Eden and a flaming sword which constantly moved around, to guard the way to the tree of life (Genesis 3:24) The Creator was not giving up, instead He began to carry out His salvation plan for all that believed and would receive His Son as Savior and Lord.

The risk was great!  If man, after having sinned and being cut off from God, ate from the tree of life, he would be in sin forever.  Therefore he would never find salvation that the Lord had begun to implement and carry out.  The Most High does not desire that your end be in suffering and yes, He does desire that all return to Him.  This is made possible by a simple act that has eternal value. By accepting and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, your sins are forgiven and you are saved.

Whoever denies or leaves the doctrine of Christ must know that he has abandoned the divine presence and should he die in this condition he will never be saved.  So the saved must always remember that they are new creatures and the old things have fallen away (2 Corinthians 5:17)   Death – the nature of the devil – has lost its grip and power over those that are saved as they are reborn in Jesus.  Halleluiah!

God desires Your happiness.  Turn to Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Savior.  Daily the number of people who will suffer eternal death grows, but those that will go on to eternal joy also grow in number.  Where will you spend your eternity?

In Christ, with Love,

Father!  If You had not said yourself about the story of the fall of man, it would be impossible to believe that Adam had the courage to sin in disobedience to Your Word. The price paid was high.  The loss is suffered to this day by all mankind. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to us.

Being deceived, Eve liked what she saw on the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but Adam had not been deceived being therefore in sound mind and judgment.  But, we don’t know how he ate of the fruit and died. Death came to all of us!

How wonderful and marvelous is Your redemption plan! When Your son went to the Cross and paid the price for our salvation.  Now, all who hear the Good News can be saved; but many do not accept Your offer and will suffer forever. Help us to save them!
