Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.

Philippians 3: 1

It is very likely that all of your works have been done to perfection and, yet, you may not be rejoicing in The Lord since you feel that you are still missing out on something. Those who are really in communion with God have such a joy other people do not have. That is what makes them stand out, that is the label that identifies the servants of The Most High. In the spiritual realm, those who are walking The True Path are armoured with a capacity to rejoice in The Lord.

The words “my brethren” used by the apostle Paul are also addressed to us. All those who are welcome in the family of God for having accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, become members of The Body of Christ and they are indeed brothers to one another. One day we will all be reunited along with those who were alive once but passed away long away and then, we will be together forever with our blessed Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.

If we believe we are saved; yet, we happen not to rejoice in The Lord, it means that something is wrong. Rejoicing means experiencing great happiness. See whether you are really rejoicing in God considering that that is the benchmark of those who belong to The Body of Christ. Our Father has not called us up to be just church members, but for us to grow up to the same spiritual level of all those who belong or those who have belonged to His family.

Those who can be cheerful the way Paul was meaning on his days will find out that they have truly been visited by Jesus; after all, The Lord manifests Himself to those He loves. Such great joy the apostle is referring to is a product of the visitation of Christ to us as we fulfil His commandments. That visitation enables us to be complete in The One who gave us life.

Paul did not mind talking again and again about that revelation of our Father. Just like the apostle we have a duty to insist on our brothers for them to seek such spiritual position in which they will certainly rejoice in The Lord and, as they do so, they will be able to enjoy the blessings that the abundant life brought by our Master has reserved for His children.

Try to rejoice in The Lord! Without Him your heart will not feel the assurance of your being deeply loved by God. If you feel that Jesus does not love you it is because you have not loved Him in the first place! In that case, what you have been doing with your faith is sheer deceit. Nevertheless, if the love of The Lord is poured out into your heart, you can be certain that you are effectively in the so blessed hands of our Father.

Paul did not mind writing once again that message from The Heavens considering that he wanted us to have the assurance that we are indeed children of God. That is utterly important since it proves that we belong to the people who will be living in The Heavens with The Lord. Those who do not manage to rejoice in The Most High ought to pray and seek counsels from Above because they are missing out on the assurance of their being saved and not lost in any vain worshiping.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
