Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Colossians 3: 16

The beginning of our spiritual success takes place when we let The Word of God dwell abundantly in us. Well, if there is no beginning, there is no middle. But even if it might have been built the right way if we do not persevere in following the appropriate directions the work will not be cocluded.

The Word of Christ must not dwell in us scarcely, but abundantly. In fact, with all wisdom – and not recklessly – it must dwell in our being. The Apostle James teaches us that those who do not have the divine wisdom must pray and ask it to be granted to them, being assured that The Lord will indeed meet their request (James 1: 5). By the way, the wisdom which is present in all the works of God is an essential requirement for The Divine Verb to dwell completely in us.

The wisdom of God teaches men high-quality lessons indeed. Its role in your life is that of training you on how to fulfil your calling; for you not to take hasty attitudes or miss any opportunity to accomplish your mission from The Lord. Have wisdom from The Heavens and see how the Almighty will operate through you. Yet, if you do not have such wonderful capacity you will not be able to succeed in accomplishing the mission you were appointed to.

We must keep an eye out to the fact that the divine wisdom has a duty to admonish us, and to wake us up whenever we fail to do the right thing. That is utterly important considering that we are expected to always fulfil the divine will successfully. There is no point in working hard, giving our all in that work, spending hours in prayer, in consecration, and in our ministry if, at the end of the day, a reprimand is what we deserve for failing.

Out of His love, The Most High admonishes us and teaches us, and He does so through ourselves. If feels so good to find servants of God who unpretentiously open their mouths and, now and then, without even noticing are being used in a simple and quite anointed way! Never fail to say what you feel is coming from Above. Many times your witness of something that has occurred in your life may become very important to those who are listening to you at that point.

Finally, in the verse above of Colossians, Paul declares that we must sing with grace to The Lord. In Philippi, the apostle took that attitude and, as a result, an earthquake took place in the prison (Acts 16: 25, 26). The keeper of the prison – a quite rough man, trained to deal with prisoners, felt the power of God and, in that very place, he ended up getting converted to The Gospel. That shows us how strong and capable of breaking the hardest hearts a song with grace is.

It is a win-win situation provided you fulfil the recommendations of The Lord because they are given to you to assist you and to take you back to the track, that of serving our Father. Besides, God does reward all those that do His will and follow the directions found in The Scriptures.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soare
