13/11/2014 - WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS OUR INTENTION

I said to the Lord: “You are my God; hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.” Psalm 140.6

Those who make the decision to accept Jesus as Savior never get disappointed. Even though everything seems to indicate that the end has come, they will rise in the strength of the Almighty to prove that, with Christ, it is different. The Teacher assured us that whoever believes in him, though he may die, he shall live (John 11.25). Pay attention to what you have done, because if you decide to take the Word of God seriously, you will find out that this is exactly what you were lacking.

It is necessary that we make the decision to trust in the Most High and declare it to Him. We must not serve our Father blindly, as if we suspected that he is not who he says he is. If your faith has been unstable like this, you need to straighten things out. Otherwise, you will not be firm in your prayers. Why should you not trust in the Lord with all your heart, if his promises have never failed?

He who makes of the Almighty his God—which is everything we need to do!—will never lose a battle. It does not matter if the devil’s attack is directed at you (your mind, your body), a family member or an acquaintance. By reading the Bible, you will find out that in biblical times there were individuals who suffered from the same evil that is afflicting you, and they resolved the problem by having faith in the Lord. To him who believes, nothing is impossible (Mark 9.23).

Pay attention when you pray. It is not necessary to use fancy words, as if you are trying to persuade the Most High to bless you. David, king of Israel, understood that, when speaking to the Lord, what really mattered was his intention. And this is what will determine if you will be heard or not. There is no use in asking just for asking. The same thing happens when a person recites a prayer (Matthew 6.7,8). What really matters is sincere supplication (Matthew 6.6).

The hypocrite, who says things contrary to what they really believe, will never be answered, because the Lord looks at the heart (1Samuel 16.7), not at the cajoling words used by some people. Be honest with the Lord, and if you have not decided yet what exactly you should ask him, ask him to guide your decisions according to his will. Under God’s guidance—which you will receive if you ask—you will be able to pray in the way to be heard.

The lives of those walk by faith run smoothly, because even if the enemy launches an attack against those who are saved this evil action will be annulled by prayer. He who has made of the Lord his God has the right to act, in the name of Jesus, to destroy all works of the enemy. Definitely, the authority given by the Most High to those who are members of his family will move into action every time they speak with faith and resolution.

In the past, those who acted in accordance with the will of God did great works, merely because they believed in what his Word said. Today those who serve our heavenly Father should not settle for anything less than. He who is firm in his faith in Jesus will receive an answer to his prayers, as long as he makes use of his authority in the Son of God.

In Christ, with love,

Eternal God, what an amazing offering you made to us when you allowed us to make of you our God! As a result, we do not need to fear any powers of hell. Evil spirits know that they cannot touch us, simply because we have you as our sovereign Lord.

We will never be disappointed in you, Lord, because you are faithful to guard us and to keep your promises. Even if all hell launches an attack against us to destroy our lives, it will not be possible, for your Word guarantees that we will not be touched.

It is good to know that we can do the same works that were done by your servants in the past. So, standing firm in faith, we now enter into a battle to cast out all evil forces from our lives and our paths! Thank you, Lord, for loving us so much.
