“Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?” (Psalm 49:5)
There are moments in our life when everything seems to go wrong, and that’s the reason why the Word of God tells us about the evil days. We must be ready for them and also feel in our hearts that when they come we won’t fear them. The truth is that the power over our enemy granted to us by the Lord Jesus is enough to get us unscathed through the periods in which evil besets us: whether it is temptations, ordeals or betrayal from your best friend, stand firm in your faith.
What to do if we’re under an evil attack? We must seek shelter in the promises of our Lord who stated that He’d be with us every day even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). So, we mustn’t fear when things are getting difficult for God knows everything, He’s always with us and therefore He’ll deliver us. One of our enemy’s strategies is to frighten us so that we don’t behave sensibly. But the strategy of the Lord is to keep us in perfect peace; however He’ll do that if we stand firm in His Word.
If our enemy could invade our lives and destroy us, God would’ve used Jesus to do something about it. However, when Jesus got out of hell he left the devil eternally defeated. Therefore, don’t fear any traps set up for you. I know that trials seem to be difficult to overcome but the Lord always gives us deliverance.
Examine yourself to see if there’s any iniquity in your life. The reason why the enemy seems so strong in his art of temptation is that our hands are tainted with wrongdoings. If that’s your case, make use of the guarantee provided by the Word of the Lord which states that if we confess our sins, He’s faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). A sincere confession to our Father followed by a request of
forgiveness and purification destroys any fortress which might’ve been built by the enemy in your life.
Be well prepared and be a winner in everything. Don’t wage a spiritual battle just for the sake of seeing whether you’ll come out victorious. Be determined and carry on firmly and with confidence, praising the Lord because in all things we’re more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). Jesus already did what had to be done: He defeated the devil forever. Now, do your part by giving our God His due praise.
Make the decision of not fearing evil days. The iniquity of those who set up traps for you might be strong, but you shall be victorious because the Lord will be with you. Wherever you go God will not leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5).
In Christ, with love,
