…finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:10

After having been enlightened, we must live as imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1). Because we are His beloved children, we will be given the ability to act as He would act if He were in our place. Those who are unaware of this fact are like the lost and the religious. Life with the Lord must be vibrant and effective because there is no such a thing as having His power working in us and not being successful.

Because we are not in heaven we have to walk in fear. Just as we were loved by Christ while we were still sinners, now we have to love our neighbors without condemning them. The events of the past, with sin and its tricks, can no longer influence us. We must therefore always respect and comply with what the Word commands us so that our lives exude the fragrance of the Lord (II Corinthians 2:15).

It is wrong to think you do not need to mind your words because you are an adult. Prostitution and all uncleanness and covetousness must not even proceed from your mouth, much less be harbored in your hearts. For example, he who meets someone friendly and wishes that person had been his other half – or, in case of widowhood, he believes that person is a good marriage material – is incurring the sin of covetousness.

Never engage in sinful, offensive and foolish conversations. Talk about things that get people to praise the Lord. Keep in mind that the unrestrained, unclean and covetous will not receive anything from Him. Only those who lead a holy life will be able to take possession of what has already been prepared and intended for us. But those who do not mind their words and actions will always have the divine wrath upon them (I Peter 3:12).

Stay away as much as possible from people who do not respect the boundaries of holiness. Do not mingle with those who do not serve the Almighty wholeheartedly. Bear this in mind: the son or daughter of God is light and, as such, they must always shine. The walk of the believer should be blessed in such a way that everyone will say: “He or she is, indeed, a child of the light”. When this happens, people will give thanks to the Lord for their life.

Only those who live in all goodness, righteousness and truth prove they are of God (Ephesians 5:9). Those who are good only to themselves or to their loved ones show they do not know our Father and do not walk in righteousness. We have to exert our rights in Christ and never exchange the truth for anything. May you prove that your love for the Lord is above all things, thus pleasing Him from now on!

In Christ with Love,
