“By which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ” (Ephesians 3:4)

The apostle Paul had a wide knowledge of the spiritual matters. Those who don’t know the Word might think that he was a privileged man; yet, the truth is that the Lord does not have two different classes of children: one to which He grants privilege and another He pays no notice to. God loves everyone in the same manner (Romans 2:11) and He always wants the best for all of His servants.

What happened to Paul was that besides the huge effort he was making, his calling was to instruct the church which was begging to take its first steps on the pathway of faith. That’s why he needed to know much more about the eternal truths.

Many were the reasons that brought Jesus to the world. The main one was to save us and to reveal the Father. Nevertheless, that wasn’t the only work He did, He also gave us understanding of the Word of God. Our Master teaches us what we need to learn to successfully fulfil His will according to our calling and our needs.

It’s important that each Christian ask themselves the following questions: First, what’s my understanding of the mystery of Christ? And second, what is there for me in the Word? Many people aren’t interested to know their rights in the Lord, their ownership and what our Father determined they should do. It turns out they live a defeated life and don’t get to achieve their blessings. To many, the scriptural records are just historical facts. It doesn’t dawn on them that as a matter of fact they’re lessons for them not to fail.

The life of Jesus, His teachings and His works are referred to in the Bible as the mystery of God which was concealed to the Patriarchs and Prophets during the whole biblical period. That mystery was revealed to us with the coming of the King of kings. So, Jesus thanked the Father that He had hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes (Matthew 11:25). We need to meditate on that mystery and understand how important it is in our lives.

An individual might spend the whole time in prayer but if he doesn’t take his stand in the revelation of the Word of God he’ll never be successful. We must be what we assume and what is revealed to us before the Most High as well as the devil and everyone else. Jesus told us to search the Scriptures carefully because He did that Himself and He learned who He was in it. The Word testifies about Him and also about us.

We have to do the same works that our Lord did. Enjoying the blessings, exercising our rights and experiencing them will make others learn from our example. Our attitudes and our way of praying and facing problems must be aligned with what our Lord Jesus did or would have done were He in our place. We’re masters of many with our testimony.

In Christ, with love,
