20/09/2016 - WHEN GOD DEPARTS FROM US

Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. Judges 16.19

Samson played with the Truth several times only to discover that living in consecration is better than enjoying those things forbidden to us by the Word of God. The day will come when pride will prove weak and false, which it actually is. The best is to fear God, this way you will never lack discernment. All promises of the Lord will be fulfilled when you believe and do not allow the devil to deceive you with his lies. Be faithful always!

Samson came into the world by express order from the Almighty. His mother was barren and was then visited by an angel from the Lord, who gave her the news that she would bear a child who would be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death. She and her husband should observe some things. That was all Manoah and his wife wanted to hear. Without any doubt, they had been praying a long time for a child. The promise was that the child would deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.

Samson was physically strong, so he thought he was also spiritually strong. As a result, he exposed himself and gave into temptation, putting his life in danger. He who plays with fire may get burned. When you live in the midst of sin, regardless of how hard you try, you will eventually fall in a moment of weakness. The Bible says that the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1Peter 5.8). Flee from him!

Those who wish to attain favor from God need to observe the instructions from the Lord regarding how his servants must act. In any situation, even if circumstances lead you to believe that certain practices will never take control over you, do not give in; if you fall into sin, the crown will be removed from your head. And even though the stain was washed by the blood of Jesus, it will continue to exist in the minds of many people, causing you severe harm in the future.

Seeing that Samson was preventing the Philistines from subjugating Israel, since they could not defeat him by physical strength, as it happened when Samson harmed one thousand of them, the Philistines sought Delilah so that she would discover the source of Samson’s strength. They knew that something was extraordinary about him and if it was removed from him, Samson would become weak.

A wicked woman knows how to make a man go crazy, therefore he can only escape her evil if he remains firm in the Word of God. Because Delilah pestered Samson daily to tell her the source of his strength, she finally persuaded him and Samson told her his secret. He could not resist the one who had been sent to defeat him with her charm and deceitfulness.

Samson revealed his secret to Delilah and she won – and she was very well paid for it. As a result, Samson lost his hair and strength. When Delilah said to him that the Philistines were coming for him, Samson thought he could defeat them, but he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.

In Christ, with love,

Lord, your plan is always wonderful and unique! To deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines, you made a barren woman conceive; however, because her son did not stand firm, he fell into sin.

May this serve as a lesson for us, that we do not forsake your precepts! If we fail to watch and pray, we will fall into the traps of the devil, and we will make many people regret our recklessness. Our lives must be told as a beautiful story written by you.

May it never be said that you have departed from us! Use us in the manner You have said concerning us, making many people be grateful for You having made us fulfill Your will. This way, you will be praised for your beautiful plans. Thank you!
