Preachers of the Gospel know that God heals, but they don’t know when it will happen. We do the work by faith and we depend on trusting the assurance of the things we hope for (Hebrews 11:1). We should proceed case by case; the apostle Paul said in a loud voice for the crippled man to get up, and he did. When a touch of heaven invades our heart, it’s better to pay attention to it.
In 1975, during a service at Cine Marajó, in Freguesia de Jacarepaguá, I was leading the people worshipping the Lord and I saw a lady who had been delivered from demons on the previous Sunday; I felt like she was about to get baptized in the Holy Spirit. Without stopping worship, I asked someone from my team to lay hands on her. She was baptized with the Holy Spirit and later became a missionary.
Faith “speaks” with authority, and its words become true in the lives of those who believe in God. When that happens, people know exactly how to proceed, just as it happened to the woman who had a flow of blood (Mark 5:25). When she heard about Jesus, she believed, and faith “told” her that if only she touched the Lord’s clothes, she would be healed. So coming from behind, she touched Jesus’ clothes and was restored in the same instant. God is faithful!
Paul didn’t doubt what was said to him and commanded the sick man to be healed, because the healing power was already in him, as well as the power to move mountains, if necessary (Matthew 17:20). When faith arises in our heart, we must follow it, because what it announces will come to pass. Nothing will stop us from acting according to the orders from heaven.
If someone’s faith is small, healing can happen little by little. But when people are prepared, the blessing can happen very quickly. Scriptures declare: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). We must preach the message of the Gospel, because it generates faith, and with it, people can be healed, delivered and saved. Nothing is more important than having our hearts full of faith. The Lord fulfills what He promises!
When he heard what God’s servant determined, the man who had crooked feet got up and started walking. How? His muscles had never been able to hold his body, but when the faith of both the preacher and the crippled man were joined, the Lord did the work.
Only once Jesus said He operated miracles (Luke 10:13). He was certain that what happened during His meetings of faith and blessings was the work of God. We live so far away from the will of the Father that we dare to declare that our prayer produces miracles. The truth is that it is all a part of the work that the Most High wants to do in us and through us. The more we learn about the Word, greater things will happen as we pray. The lame man got up and walked because he had real faith. Hallelujah!
In Christ, with love,

Lord! It is wonderful to know what Your Word says about our lives, what we can do through it and what You expect from us. We long to please You in every moment, and that’s why we ask for help!
The message must be announced as it was in the days of the apostles and our Master, when all kinds of healing and deliverance happened. We can’t just preach about a Gospel of promises, without looking at all the other things that happened when Jesus ministered!
What a blessed day it was in Lystra, when Paul allowed You to reveal Your purposes. Father, use Your servants to do the same works in the name of Christ. We are grateful that You love and anoint us!
