06/02/2012 - WHEN GOD’S PEOPLE GET INTO ACTION, THE LORD WORKS

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.

Psalm 114:1-4

Israel had many divine promises but it was not until they came out of captivity that they became the sanctuary of the Lord. The same goes for those called to be saints: even having accepted Jesus as Savior and attending a good church, if they do not let go of all that is condemned by the Holy Word, they will not be the temple of God and the Lord will not be able to dwell in them for He only dwells in pure hearts.

The servants of the Lord must turn away from barbaric people, among whom they will only be in contact with ungodly things (Ephesians 5:3-12). The thoughts of those who do not follow God\’s commandments originate in the prince of the power of the air, which dominates many Christians also through lusts and wrongdoings. Some people do not understand why they do not receive their blessings even though they believe in God. Although the act of believing is very important, if the believer does not come out from among the wicked nor abandon the filthy practices of the world, it will be of no avail (Psalm 1.1).

Having followed Moses and left Egypt, the sons of Jacob became the domain of the Lord. So they could rest and be free once and for all from the Egyptians. My brother, examine yourself: if any wickedness has been dwelling in your heart, get rid of it for good. In doing so, the enemy will no longer hold you in his hands and the Lord Almighty will reign in your life. It is of the utmost importance to flee from the domain of evil and go to the Kingdom of the beloved Son of God, where the evil one does not work and cannot exert influence on anyone (I John 4:4; 5:18-19).

Having made the decision to follow the servant of God, the Israelites saw that the Lord really worked miracles. They were amazed at what the Almighty had done for them. Even nature showed its appreciation for the work that God had done for His people.

Everything will run smoothly for you too. All you have to do is to believe in what the Lord speaks to you and leave your \”Egypt\” and in so doing you will see the wonders the heavenly Father will do in your life. What happened to the Israelites is an example of what happens to anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior: they become a divine sanctuary, the domain of the Most High, which evil cannot touch.

Salvation is the purest form of reality! It is not a mere change of religion; it is actually far more than that.  With conversion, we were conveyed out of the evil empire and became the Lord\’s beloved children, guided and governed by the Holy Spirit (John 3:6-8).
