Then Moses looked over all the work, and indeed they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, just so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.

Exodus 39:43

God’s work is made up of many laborious details, which besides being important are revealed to us according to the divine plan, as seen in the building of the tabernacle. First, the Lord spoke to Moses about its construction, how it should be erected, explaining the details of the decoration and other parts. The work of evangelization, whose mission is to turn the lost into “tabernacles” of worship, must also be carried out according to His plan.

The Almighty commanded Moses to hire Bezalel and Aholiab, artisans He endowed with knowledge to create a school of craftsmen in order to build the tabernacle exactly as they had been shown (Exodus 31:1-6). Moses had to oversee everything and probably write down what he saw so as to tell the workers. The people, in turn, contributed so that everything could be executed according to the Lord’s desire. Undoubtedly, there was joy in the day the work was completed.

The artisans took the tabernacle to Moses who did not simply glance at it or hastily examined the work done; on the contrary: that man of God looked over all the work and finally blessed the builders (Exodus 39:32-43). This makes us understand that one day we will arrive before the Lord Jesus, who commanded us to go all over the world and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15), and then we will give account of what we managed to do with His power. I pity those who do not strive to do according to the biblical commandment!

What kind of converted people have we produced? What example have we given to those the Lord puts in our way to become His people? What will He say when He examines our spiritual children? Shall we hear from His lips: Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord (Matthew 25:21)? Or will He call us evil and unfaithful servants, saying: And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Verse 30)?

Jesus once told Peter that the sheep which he should take care of were His own (John 21:15-17). We cannot be indifferent to those He places in our ministry for us to feed. The man of God should not be involved with the affairs of this life for he has to please Him who enlisted him for His work. This concerns not only the shepherds, but also all the saved because we have the sublime mission of taking care of our little brothers in Christ.

What a beautiful scene must have been Moses receiving the tabernacle and then blessing the chief builders! It will also be beautiful when Jesus gives you the crown of righteousness (II Timothy 4:8), with which you will be blessed throughout eternity. Fight, strive and be sure to seek the Lord so that He may crown you with His reward. The fact that you have been called to be His witness already shows the love He has for you. Therefore, reciprocate by doing what He commands.

In Christ with Love,
