He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me.

2 Samuel 22.17-18

In accordance with 2 Samuel 22.1, when he found himself free from his enemies, he wrote a song praising the Lord for what he had done for him. Express your gratitude to God you too – whether you write a song to him or not. One of the ways to say “thank you very much” is to do something that will be forever remembered as a testimony of God’s action. So, how about having a special worship service to thank the Lord for his blessings and invite friends and relatives to attend it?

When afflicted, David called upon the Most High, showing that no one should allow the enemy to oppress or let alone destroy them. But upon whom he who does not have God as his Lord will call? The only one who can save is the King of Heavens and Earth! There is no salvation in any other god (2Samuel 7.22; Isaiah 46.9; 1Corinthians 8.4). Today the Most High is inviting you to enter into contact with him by using the name of his son.

When we call upon the Lord in the name of Jesus, he listens. When we cry for help, our request enters his ears, and we can rest assured that something good will happen. And that is because the Lord is a man of war (Exodus 15.3) and he does not spare any efforts to give his children what they ask. Right now he is ready and waiting for your call; he is willing to do whatever he can to give you the desires of your heart. So believe, and ask him for deliverance.

David’s description about everything that happened when his call entered the ears of the Lord is impressive (2Samuel 22.7-16). And, when you call on the Lord with faith, he will do exactly the same: the Earth will shake and tremble and the foundations of heaven will quake. Having heard your cry, God will be filled with wrath and enter into action in your favor.

Our heavenly Father stretched out his hand to David and rescued him. This shows that it does not matter how many attacks from the devil you are being subject to: the Lord is powerful to make them all go away in the blink of an eye. In a fraction of a second, the hand of God will be stretched out to you and your life will be filled with his power. The devil will no longer oppress you and you will be rescued from the sea of sorrow in which you are drowning.

David also said that his enemy was strong but could not stand against the power of our God. This shows that no demon is able to remain standing before the work of the Almighty God. So ask the Lord to act in your favor. All you need to do is believe in what he tells you through his Word, and he will listen to your cry.

Those who call upon the Lord with faith and confidence always have the victory, because God delights in delivering those who trust in him. Everything you feel that the Lord wants to do can happen right now; it depends on you alone. So call upon him!
