See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.   Isaiah 49.16

What an amazing statement our God makes about us, His children! He looks at us continually, expecting us to walk in the straight path, doing His will. Then, in turn, the Most High protects us and keeps us from the snares of the enemy (read Psalm 91). But unfortunately, we are not always right with the Lord and let the flesh take over. This causes us to lose His help.

Asaph begins Psalm 81 by talking about feasts. This was a statute for Israel, an ordinance from the God of Jacob, as the Lord was known (v. 4). Next, in verse 8, the psalmist declares that Abraham’s heirs should listen to the Almighty and thus be admonished. God makes a lament: Oh, Israel, if only you would hear me! Now, we are the Israel of this time (Galatians 6.16), but, like the people of the past, we don’t want to listen to the Lord anymore, and for this we also pay a high price!

In this Psalm, the Lord says that there could be a strange god among His people, alien to the promises, and that they bowed themselves before him (Psalm 81.9). Today, we have chosen other gods, like Mammon, the false deity of wealth. Even though we are in the school of the Holy Spirit, we don’t even consult or ask God to deliver us from temptations. Whoever distances himself from the Almighty is approaching the destroyer. What do you say?

The refusal to seek the Lord and submit to Him caused Israel, the beloved people, to be given over to the gods of their hearts. These evil spirits, which are nothing but torturing demons, made them walk according to their own counsels. Now, how can man succeed in his actions if he does not have heavenly help? Whoever despises the divine counsel puts himself under the devil’s yoke.

Listen to God! He has warned that He has inscribed us in the palm of His hands. The decision to seek the One who made the Covenant with Abraham and never failed to answer him will bless those who, by faith, are His children. This is how the Word declares what we can claim: And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14.13). So, claim all that the Bible says!

Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have the right to be delivered from all curses. There is much written about us: Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3.13,14). If we are redeemed, let’s act that way.

It is irrelevant how far you have gone in your stubbornness of not bowing down before the Lord. Jesus died for us, and we have been rescued from the curse of the Law and also forgiven of the mistakes made in the times of ignorance. The walls of protection are continually in God’s presence. He will never let any evil or any plague get to us!
