Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying  Haggai 1:3

In this study on Haggai’s prophecy, we will learn why God sends His Word. We must know that He created all things for Him, in Him and through Him (Colossians 1:16,17). The tool used by the Lord to make all that exists in the visible and invisible world was the holy Verb, His Word: All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1:3). It will never return empty to the Almighty, but will fulfill its mission (Isaiah 55:11).

The Holy Scriptures were recorded for a lot of good reasons, mainly for our admonition and instruction. When we are rebuked by God, we have the opportunity to convert and be blessed: Turn at my rebuke; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you (Proverb 1:23). Thus, we enjoy the Holy Spirit and His guidance.

No wonder that, through Haggai´s ministry, the Lord’s message was sent to fulfill His plan on behalf of the Israelites who had strayed from the path, and also to open our eyes to the rights we have in Christ, which, by the way, is no small matter. It is good to pay attention to the biblical directions; after all, within a comma or a tilde, there is a lot of revelation that we will miss if we let it slip out of our hands.

When we read the Bible or listen to its preaching, we have to open our ears, because at these moments, the Lord speaks about everything – from a small detour to the events to come. In His omniscience, God has put in the pages of the Holy Book what concerns us, including any decisions that we will need to make with His help; otherwise, we will not succeed. Believe!

Israel was not walking as the Most High wanted. When they saw the fertility of the Promised Land, from which they had been expelled, the Israelites only thought about gaining more and more, forgetting about the temple of God, which was the place destined to have communion with the beloved of the Lord and receive the necessary guidelines. Whoever does not read the Scriptures daily is weak and therefore can commit transgressions. Sin separates us from the Father and makes us servants of the spirit that tempts us. Cry out!

Every recommendation of the Lord must be recorded in its full extent and considered to be true. By what He says, we are freed from problems and troubles that we never thought we would experience in our lives. If you understand the Lord’s message, you will have a foundation on which to build your life. Then, even if heavy rains fall and currents that strike against your house form, it will not fall (Matthew 7:24-27).

The Word comes with God’s sublime purpose. Seeing us go astray, the Lord rebukes us lest we fall into the clutches of the evil one. In the expression of the Word, He makes us understand wonders of which we had never heard, but which we can enjoy. To fail to meditate on the Father’s writings is to despise His guidance. With it, you will never be deceived by the liar, but enlightened by the Almighty.

In Christ, with love,

Father of holy messages! In every generation You have strived to give Your children the best in life. But, unfortunately, they are not always willing to listen to You, and so they reap many bad things that lead them to distress!

Let Your servants bring Your revelations! We don't want to suffer or give the devil any room in our lives. We want to serve You with excellence. Then You will be pleased with our actions. Help us to fulfill Your commandments!

In the next lessons, we will learn more about what You showed Haggai, aiming at our own happiness - now and in the future. We will start all over again, freeing ourselves from the deceptions of the evil one. You love us with holy love. We give You glory and honor!
