Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD; Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD! Psalm 135.1

God instituted praise as one of the means for our spirit to be strengthened in Him (Psalm 22.3). In this way, we will be victorious in the battles that the kingdom of darkness will wage against those who have been called to make up the Body of Christ. One of the reasons for praise is to exalt God and His name. The threefold repetition happens so that we are complete when entering His presence, when receiving the blessings, and when serving the Almighty.

As Creator and Lord of Heaven and Earth, God has been good to those who call upon Him in spirit and in truth (John 4.23). He teaches us to worship Him for our own good (Psalm 145.18). In doing so, we are strengthened and enlightened for a better life. Just as a mother takes pleasure in nursing her baby, the heavenly Father rejoices in our praise: good is for us!

The first instruction is to glorify Him as Lord. Thus, our heart will ingest the spiritual Food that will nourish our spirit, to fulfill His will. Our inner self will connect with God, receiving power to accomplish what He declares in His Word. We will be able to do many things. According to Jesus, they will be the same works done by Him (John 14.12). We must offer prayers and supplications with a loud cry (Hebrews 5.7).

We have already seen that Christ was given the Name above every name (Philippians 2.9-11). He is the Word of God who became incarnate and saved us. This is how the Bible describes Him: For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4.12). This majestic Being is our Savior!

When He returned to Heaven, He regained the glory He had before He came to the world to bring our redemption, therefore, we must magnify Him. The Almighty knows everything, and He is the one we have to deal with: And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4.13). As you draw near to the Savior, exalt Him and you will see how much you will grow!

Let us ask God to teach us to bless His Name. This is because He has magnified His Word and His Name above all things. Peter explained the healing work performed on the man at the Beautiful Gate of the temple in Jerusalem, by saying:  And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all (Acts 3.16). Believe!

Those who wish to be useful servants must seek to praise God, extolling His qualities. No Christian, having learned how to magnify God, will regret it. On the contrary, he will develop his ministry by growing in divine grace. Start seeking the Lord in worship. Your life will change!

In Christ, with love,

God of our praise! We are bad with our lives, like the little child who still has no notion and refuses to suck its mother's milk. As a consequence, it is deprived of the components of the food prepared to give him health!

You promised to instruct us, teaching us the way to follow, guiding us with Your powerful and loving look. Help us in our worship of You as You have prepared: for our growth in love, faith and submission to You. We thank You for loving us!

We want to glorify You as our Lord, for You are sovereign. We have the lesson to follow strictly: to offer You perfect praise. But this will only be possible, if we learn from Your Son. We will exalt Your beautiful Name as obedient and fearless servants!
