14/11/2023 - WITH ALL MY MIGHT

Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance.  1 Chronicles 29.2

Those who do not pay attention to the biblical information on how to serve God are wrong. People who, with discouragement and without wholeheartedness, do something for the Lord, such as helping to evangelize the lost, visiting the sick and imprisoned, are completely mistaken. The Word is clear: And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men (Colossians 3:23). Servants must always be obedient!

David prepared himself to build the great temple, but prevented by the Most High, he did not grieve or become melancholy at heart. The king affirmed that, with all his strength, he had already gathered much material for the building of that great House and would give it for such a project. Never be resentful towards anything, much less towards God!

The king gave the gold he had gathered over a long period of time to the rightful owner. His heart was gladdened by this. Because of insignificant acts, many people close themselves off from the gifts they have been given and, in a depressing and diabolical way, become angry with the Lord. Such irritation should never exist. Now, if God has not given me the work I wanted, I must do the other work entrusted to me with joy and gratitude!

In addition to the gold, David also separated silver and gave it to the production of pieces made of that metal. He didn’t want the temple to look ugly because of the lack of something. The important thing is not who was chosen to be the builder of the temple, but the task that the Lord gave to each one. Sometimes intercession is worth more than the greatest offering He gives through someone. We cannot measure divine choices by human parameters!

David had the same attitude towards copper and iron for the needs of the temple, as well as wood, and sardonyx stones, and stones for setting, and ornamental stones, and inlaid work, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. What an example to be applied to the building of churches throughout the world! The king kept the gifts he had received and gave them to the Lord. Beautiful!

The Christian, to whom God has entrusted gifts and riches, must remember that he will be held accountable if he does not use these gifts with fear. Some people had nothing and prospered. In so doing, they have given their children valuable possessions – which is not wrong – but they have erred in failing to give the Lord “gifts” that would help in the work. The quality of the offering given to the treasure house shows our regard for God. Why not please the Almighty?

Read Malachi’s statements about giving to God (Malachi 1:8; 1:13). Do it with joy!

In Christ, with love,

God of our life and will! How can we not give You some or all of what You have given us? We are grateful to You for what You do on our behalf. You help us so much that we cannot find words to match the benefits. We thank You for what You have done for us!

We do not want to offer something that has no value in the market. When we come to You, You receive us with love. We would like to have more of You to reward the love and patience You have shown us.

May Your blessed hand support us and Your loving protection be offered to us constantly. Do not let us fall into any trap of the devil. Without You we are nothing and can do nothing, so open to us the doors of faith and success!
