…and he said to his attendants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him." Matthew 14:2.

People who don’t serve God do this because they don’t fully understand the Word. If they had the discernment of Truth, they would convert to Jesus and would begin to serve Him. The Truth does not hurt anybody, for it is not a list of precepts made up by man, but the Truth are commandments the Creator gives us so that we keep them for our own well being. Fulfilling what the Scriptures tell us, we are free from the evil actions. 

Individuals like Herod are a danger to mankind because if they are provoked they can take decisions that will result in fatal loss to many. Some become fanatic, and although we try very hard, we cannot remove them from their stubborn attitudes. The worst thing that can happen to a person is to not understand the divine plan and keep following masters that don’t know anything about the Lord. 

Herod ruled over a great territory, had absolute power in his region and feared John the Baptist, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, but he arrested him and had him safe. When he listened to John, which was good to his mind, he would become perplexed. However, he promised to the daughter of Herodias, the wife of his brother, who he lived with, that he would give her even half of his kingdom. He answered her by giving John´s head (Matthew 14:6-11). 

How many politics show they like the people of God and even invite some to talk. When some of them visit us, they behave as true Christians, but one day, if they have any shady or personal interest, they won’t think twice before doing us harm. The Bible declares: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh (Jeremiah 17:5). The son of the Most High must trust only in the Lord. 

What good was it for Herod to get stunned by the true explanations given by John the Baptist? The attitude of this wicked man can be repeated by any person who has not gone through the narrow door. Therefore, do not trust the person who is still not saved and does not live in communion with the Father. He who is not committed to the faith in Jesus can be used by the enemy to fulfill his filthy plans. Stay alert and always pray! 

We know people who, apparently, served the Lord, but, for unknown reasons, went away from faith by obeying evil spirits, and caused great harm to faith. They are expert at lying, for their consciousness is cauterized because they were influenced by teachings from the demons. Although they see they are being led to error, they don’t wake up to convert. 

Some insane people of the Truth forbid marriage, considering mere formality, and therefore, unnecessary. Others require abstinence from the food God created to be received with thanksgiving. (1 Tim 4:1-4). Ultimately, the list is full of things that cause many to deviate to paths that aren’t biblical.
